Im afraid i don't know anyone in your local area, but if you're willing to travel just a little bit extra i recommend Laserlife on baker street, london (i'm not 100% on the name though, something along those lines) or Tattoo Uk have a branch in Rayner's lane also in london (tube stop right across the street) that do laser treatment.
I think your best bet is to first of all find an artist whose work you like and ask for their opinion, every tattooer feels different about cover ups and they might suggest something you have not considered before. voices on the internet can only help so far, for actual guidance and trustworthy option you should really start off with finding a new artist and speaking with them in person.

Where in the uk?

i think mine are, in no particular order:
Chad Koeplinger, Scott Sylvia, Ed Hardy, Chris Conn, Henning Jorgensen.
what a tight list, i think i honestly would need 10 at least to feel like less of a dick for leaving some of my other favourite tattooers out there

Just a little fluff piece but sweet all the same. nice to see nice stories involving heavily tattooed people for a change rather than the usualy freakshow shit.
Jacqui Moore celebrates divorce with full body tattoo by new lover | Metro.co.uk
Woman celebrates divorce with full body tattoo by new loverSome women mark new-found singledom with a toyboy, others might splash out on a haircut or a new wardrobe, but mother-of-two Jacqui Moore celebrated her divorce with a single tattoo that covers 85 per cent of her body.
Jacqui Lavis celebrated her divorce by allowing her new lover to tattoo her whole body
The 41-year-old found new love with a man who has spent the last eight years inking her flesh with a continuous black and grey ‘full bodysuit’ tattoo.
Only her left armpit, half her right leg and most of her face is uncovered – but she hopes to get that daubed next spring.
Jacqui fell for 45-year-old tattooist Andreas Moore, nicknamed ‘Curly’, after divorcing her husband, Martin, in 2003.
She said: ‘I went to get a new tattoo to symbolise my freedom and the new chapter in my life. When I got to the parlour I met Curly and we fell in love and he has been tattooing me ever since.’
Jacqui Lavis and boyfriend Curly are big fans of body art
Jacqui says her employer, a private school where she works as a gardener, is happy with her look – but many others aren’t.
She said: ‘Some are very nice while I get a lot of funny looks from other people. Some even tell me I look disgusting. But I am proud of my body, I see it as a work of art.’
Her complex tattoo involves swirling Indian and Tibetan flowers on her leg, a swarm of dragonflies on her back and a large spider’s web – complete with tarantulas – on her stomach.
An open eye is inked inside her right armpit.
Luckily Curly doesn’t charge for the work, which would have cost £13,440.
Jacqui, from Oxford, said: ‘I love seeing my body change every time Curly tattoos me. It’s an incredible journey of self-discovery.’

hey steve, yes the delete option is there now, thanks!

i listen to john frusciante often, his solo stuff, not all his albums are to many people's tastes but i highly recommend the empyrean, shadows collide with people and the will to death. they are slightly more listenable in a work environment.
Recently I was told about the XX, they only have one album out but it's awesomely chilled out and a bit goth which is always good in my book. UNKLE's War Stories is also great, chris goss helped produce it.
Beck has a big bunch of awesome albums too, Boards of Canada's Geogaddi, also check out Basil Poledouris' Conan the barbarian OST, I listen to it a few times a week at least, so good!
I agree, you should check out spotify for finding new music, the 'similar artists' bit really helps find new music. i use the paid for spotify service which allows 'offline' mode so you can play saved playlists and radios on your iphone/ipod. really worth the money and then some. good luck!

hmm, i dont see the option. all i see on the right hand side is 'image info, 'image manipulation' and 'image replacement'. no mention of delete...

not really related to the forum itself but i just read somewhere that youtube are now allowing uploads of up to 10hrs. maybe its worth putting the older and longer interviews like the juan puente one into a single video?

ive asked people to delete whatever picture theyve just taken of me pretending that they hadnt, they were pretty embarassed to have been busted. that or depending on their rudeness i give them the finger. yep, i'm a lady.

Recently watched American Gangster ,this is based on the true story of Frank Lucas and plays like the how to manual of successfull drug-dealing .
also seen that film a while a go, it was good :)

I saw the social network at the cinema when it first came out and i found it very enjoyable. great dialogue, perfectly framed scenes, sharp and no boring/slow bits that made you lose interest half way through.
anyway, i just got my hands on the extras DVD of the film and it's great to understand about the craft behind the scenes. some awesome insights into the acting, soundtrack and directing, i'd highly recommend watching both the film and the extras if youre into well made, good quality anything really :)
also, the other night i finally saw fatal attraction for the first time. its always been one of those classic films i just kept missing and i thought it was great, will probably buy the DVD soon.

im gonna wait and let my profile be public when they allow integration with twitter and wordpress. i'd rather use google + than facebook any day.

Nikki's a great tattooer, such a sweetheart too. broke our hearts when she had to go back home to DC :( i got a great lady hot-stuff devil with her boobs out on the back of my thigh from her.

hey gougetheeyes, so i found pt 2 and 3 on your blog, was pt 1 in the mag and why youve not posted it? either way great read, i am incredibly flattered he said those things about my work. i have had the pleasure to see some of his work in the flesh on random visitors of the shop and they are full of cleverness without looking cluttered, he is one of my favorite tattooers out there and it's sad to know a lot of customers i tattoo aren't even aware of his work (thats also the case with ed hardy and even scott!)

I got my ribs tattooed by stewart maaaaany years ago and one of the sittings was 5 and a bit hrs, that was fun! haha. he says i fell asleep but i think i was just passed out. then jack rudy tattooed a topless babe on my thigh this year at the milano convention that took 6 hrs inc drawing time. the thigh one was actually incredibly easy going though, was feeling a wee bit raw towards the end but could have gone on longer if needed. getting the front of your thigh tattooed is generally easy i feel but he was so gentle it boggled my mind
