  1. Don't know if this is quite the right thread for it, but it's a pretty good story anyway. As I was having my back tattooed I sent progress photos to my Dad via e-mail because he wanted to see how it was going. A couple of his workmates had tattoos and he'd been keeping them in the loop too, because they were interested in the progress. Anyway, after it was finished I sent through a final photo and Dad has it up on his computer screen at work with a few of his buddies looking at it when his boss walks in. Everyone goes sort of quiet and the boss strolls over and looks at what's on the screen. Then he turns to Dad, shakes his head, chuckles and says "Mate. Imagine if your daughter came home with a tattoo like that!' 'Actually,' says Dad...
  2. I think the longest between tattoos for me since I turned 18 has been a year and a half? I think it averages out to three or four months from finishing one piece to starting another, funds permitting. I recently got both feet tattooed and the month long wait between the first and the second was killing me, I couldn't wait to see the finished product. Got to agree with gougetheeyes though, that 'the itch' gets worse when I hang around with other people getting tattoos, keeps them on my mind.
  3. The longest I've been tattooed for was 5.5-6ish hours, working on the lower parts of my back piece. Didn't enjoy a sitting that long much at all - anything over 4 hours and I'm pretty much over it and ready for a snack, haha. I'd probably consider sitting for about that long again if it was a convention and the only way to finish the piece, but not with my regular artists.
  4. Hey there, Figured I'd post a quick hello - I'm Megan, from Wellington NZ and I'm a big fan of tattoos. I'm trying to slow down my collecting by spending more time reading about tattoos than actually getting tattooed and was thrilled to find this forum! I look forward to chatting with you all :)
