  1. The weird thing is this was the easiest time I've ever had not smoking. Only a couple blips of cravings. I still have partial packs scattered around the house/car and probably half a carton sitting on my dresser. The only major difference between this time quitting and the ones in the past is I really just got fed up. I wasn't quitting for single reason like cost, health, girlfriend, family, etc. I just simply didn't want another cigarette for whatever reason.

One weird thing I have to get used to is actually being able to smell cigarettes now. Before I could never actually smell cigarettes, smokers or pretty much anything to tell you the truth.

Trust me, when you are a reformed smoker you can smell a smoker from half a mile away. The smell will turn your stomach. It's quite odd really.

Keep up the good work man!

  2. lol I knew this would turn into an ICP convo :( damn clowns lol.

I am a decent person! My husband is also a juggalo, and a very hard working father, makes wonderful money so I can stay home with my kids! we do not party or use drugs...we dress normal! I do not go to concerts anymore because I am always home with my babies! so yes I am a good person :) not all juggalos are trailer trash ;) we own a really nice house! OWNED :) and my juggalo husband is very successful. He is an IT, but does side jobs, he is like the jack of all trades I swear. He is building a beautiful theater room for our new 1080p HD 3D epson projector. We are not like any other juggalos you know...trust me they get on my nerves! I don't wear their shirts or show my tattoos because I do not want to be bothered by their "whoop whoops" in public haha. Its mostly the young crowed where people get their opinions from...all my friends are the same way as us....

so now that we got that out the way lol PLEASE :) suggestions...

ugh that video makes me mad...the new gatherings are terrible...full of people who just want to sell and use drugs...when the gatherings were in OHIO they were NOTHING like they are now :/ people throwing shit at people..fucking animals!! I did not even know about that documentary...I am on the "family underground" dvd for like 2 seconds lol.

Lol, no worries. But a light hearted jab was too hard to pass up, I'm sure you understand.

As far as suggestions go, I can't help you there. I have no artistic eye what so ever.

  3. Rochester, NY. I live outside of Pittsburgh now.

Here I thought ICP was a local thing. Since you seem to be a decent person I will spare you my ICP jokes. I live 50 miles from Detroit so I've had just about enough of those guys.

  4. I have to say the apprentice thing is really interesting and confusing to me at the same time. From what I read here I gather a apprenticeship is unpaid. I am also surprised to see some people pay to be an apprentice. How does an apprentice make a living while they apprentice? Assuming most potential apprentices are young how do they pay for an apprenticeship, work for free and take care of their obligations?

This all seems very counter-intuitive to me.

  5. I contacted them in July and my first appointment was on Oct 26. It was harder for me to get in because we had to find times that Kore and Brenda both had openings. My wife was getting tattooed by Brenda at the same time. I just finished my first project with him last week and I'm already heading back in April to start the next one.

If you like what Kore does, I would not miss a chance to work with him. As great as he is as a tattooer, he's even a better person. You will know what I mean when you meet him. BTW there is an interview with him here on the site if you want to get an idea what he is all about.

  6. I haven't been in contact with Kore as of yet, but I have spent a lot of time on both his and his wife's gallery pages. Very impressive work and I plan to contact him to see if I can meet with him to discuss some ideas.

I really like big traditional japanese tattoos and black and grey. I am leaning toward the former for my first sleeve. Some color, but not so bright as to scream at passers-by :-).

My other arm will be darker, a brooding owl, maybe a clock or compass, grim reaper, maybe something that leans a little celtic. Haven't worked that one out much yet.

To me the hardest part is organizing the chaos of all of the ideas that pop up when I think about it and I'm hoping that the artist I choose can help me organize it into something that works.

I really appreciate the replies, and I will look into all of the recommendations you have given.

I had heard from a few folks locally that Plurabella can be a tough studio to get into, any experience with this? I have no problem waiting, just curious as to what I might expect.

Very easy to get into. I sent an email, Kim responded the same day and we were off and running.

  7. Add in Mike Dorsey and you got a good list to select from. @BAM773 They all work out of PluraBella and all do incredible work. To top it off, they are all amazing people. They are sincere, honest, and funny as hell. PluraBella is a magical place and I highly suggest you check it out. If you do e-mail or call, the wonderful Kim will be the one you talk to. She is an absolute darling!

Thanks, I couldnt remember Mike's last name.

  8. @BAM773

What kind of tattoos do you like? If you are from Cinci, I recommend contacting Kore Flatmo at PluraBella. I am currently being tattooed by him, as are four or five people on these boards. He does incredible work and you NEED to be tattooed by him.

    Very much this.

Add Brenda Flatmo and Mason Williams to the list of great tattooers in Cincinnati

  9. For all you Japanese folklore afficianados out there...I am starting work on my torso next week Thursday. We are going with a "Joroguma" theme. First person to tell me what that is wins a virtual hug ;)

Ditto. He does incredible work. When I got tattooed by Kore, he was talking about Trocchio being one of the coolest tattooers he knows. If Flatmo says it...it must be true.

A spider that lures men to her by taking the shape of a seductive woman.

  10. Ah I see, thought it maybe had to do with not liking the idea. heh

It'll give their gynecologist a good laugh. :P

Thankfully I don't need t see one of those, but I can't imagine having your gynecologist laugh during your exam would be very comforting.
