  1. Yeah, that Ryan Cooper Thompson tattoo looks like the Bob Wicks design. Wicks is one of my favorites, for sure. I got one of his girls last year.
  2. Yes, I LOVE printmaking!! I work at a university, so I get free tuition and took a litho/silk screen class this fall. I let the print shop eat up basically all of my free time, and I'm happy to do it again in the spring. Good work, please post more prints!
  3. It's probably always this bad and I just immediately forget as soon as it's no longer a problem, but my back is ITCHY AS FUCKING HELL. So a couple minutes ago I was in the print shop, noticed I was alone, and started to slap my back like a crazy person. This was of course the moment that someone decided to lead in a tour group of BFA applicants and their parents. I'm guessing not many of them will be declaring printmaking majors.
  4. I seriously need a wolf from him before there is absolutely nowhere left to put it. My second choice would be a ship.
  5. This is what I've had done so far. Four sessions; the rose and yet more black went in last Friday. By Grez at Kings Avenue.
  6. I will if ya ever have one when I'm in town! I think I keep missing meetups by a week.
  7. @Cork Three sessions down and probably a third or more done? I'm filled from the bra line up. Three more sessions before the end of January and then I'm gonna give myself a little break. I've got my progress up over yonder: Flickr: Please wait...
  8. I had to reschedule my last session on my back with Grez due to trouble with my flights, so I'm heading back to New York for that Friday, if the gods of airline travel smile upon me this time. I also have a couple of awkward spaces on my left leg now, which is setting off my tattoo OCD, but those are going to have to stay awkward for a while.
  9. @spookysproul Ha, if I got everything I wanted at fourteen tattooed, I'd probably have full sleeves of Tool lyrics and a back piece that's just Kurt Cobain's face.
  10. I definitely tried to get tattooed when I was fourteen--I was living in the middle of nowhere Maine that summer working in a barn, and I rode my horse to this biker bar where I'd heard someone tattooed. The bikers called my parents. Got the same tattoo four years later and let's just say the four extra years of thinkin about it didn't help much. I kinda wish I had gotten it then, just to make the story that much better. There isn't a legal age in Ohio and I'm actually okay with it--I don't know many tattooers around here that would agree to tattoo a minor anyway, and I'm generally cool with letting people exercise their goddamn common sense without unnecessary legal meddling.
  11. I love how you say this like it's possible you just forgot.
  12. Which one of you folks was it that I saw at Kings Ave Friday afternoon getting work from Jason? I totally recognized your tattoos, and meant to say something, but these sessions on my back kind of reduce my conversational skills to "blerghfl?" That piece you got was killer, anyway.
  13. As a Game of Thrones fan I look forward to meeting said character, watching it kill all my favorite characters, and then win at everything.
  14. I heard that George RR Martin, after seeing last week's episode, said that there wasn't a character as evil as Walter White in the Game of Thrones series and felt compelled to create one.
  15. Oh hey I'm in Ohio too! I've seen some pretty cool pieces by Bunny at Rising Tide in Newark, OH.
  16. I booked my next flights to New York this morning. Third session on my back with Grez in a couple weeks. It was a nice coupla months off!
  17. Yeah, that'll be FILLED with fun. It was only REALLY bad for a couple of days, honestly. I think I just rewrapped with so much plastic my knee was basically immobile and did my best to not hate life until it was better.
  18. Haha, well that depends: does your half-mile walk involve stairs and do you have scabs right in the crease?
  19. @hogg Agreed! My first knee ditch heal I was pirate-walking for a week. It was the most painful heal ever, while my kneecap itself was just kind of sore and swollen.
  20. I'm leaving my academic teaching gig to take a job as a scientific illustrator for an excavation in Brazil next year. I get to do art for a living for a little while, and I am so fucking stoked. I'm also taking a printmaking class this semester, and it's the most fun I've had in any class, ever. Not sure why I love this really hard, really time-consuming process, but it turns out I think lithography is the shit.
  21. I'm only a couple of hours from Cincinnati, I will definitely check out Dana's shop the next time I'm there.
  22. This was the funniest thing that ever happened to me last night when I was drunk. It is still good now.
