  1. Now I'm EXTRA bummed that I'm stuck in Ohio that weekend.
  2. I've long considered a Ron Wells Twin Peaks tattoo.
  3. Haha, I lived there for 23 years and mostly only miss Italian food and delivery. And maybe not having to drive anywhere.
  4. Thanks good to know!!! I didn't bring anything soft with me to New York, but once I'm home I'm gonna try it. As of right now that upper back bit doesn't even like my purse strap over two layers of clothing.
  5. Yesss, but if you are anything like me, that is EVERY tattoo. I'm traveling so I was offered full-day sessions, but I only took half-days, and four hours is about as much as I have in me these days. I envy your local-ness, can't want to see it!
  6. Me neither! Also now that I am healing a big chunk of my upper back: not being able to wear a bra sucks a lot.
  7. Hahaha. I mean congratulations. I was recently telling a friend how the butt tattoo pain is just indescribable, then as I was moving, a mover walked up and asked me what hurt the worst. Friend said I made a very weird face as I tried to come up with something that wasn't my ass. @suburbanxcore Yeah, that bandage was a force to be reckoned with! My back is a panther/snake battle with some roses.
  8. I got my third piece from Ron Wells Friday, and I LOVE HER: & if anyone wants the link to my Grez back piece progress, PM me. I don't want my butt all over the internet before its finished--after that, I of course give zero fucks.
  9. Second session on my back tomorrow with Grez, and then another little tattoo from Ron Wells. I'm excited and probably a little nuts.
  10. One of the cashiers at my favorite local pho place asked me how many hours my tattoos had taken, and how much I thought I had left. So I gave her my vague estimate and she said, "But that's like ten whole days. ...Can you shower with those on?" What?
  11. Here's a little piece on her I dug up a few weeks back when the video was posted. It did make me want to go to the Philippines. JULIE TOLENTINO & BATOK TATTOO
  12. @SStu Zombie panhandlers, actually, but I figured those details weren't tattoo-related...
  13. Lucky you. I wish I could un-know sometimes.
  14. @Pleadco Fun! I was in Portland for just a couple days a month or so ago. I got tattooed at Atlas and liked it quite a lot there. Really hope I get to see more of Oregon one day!
  15. I would, except I live mostly in Ohio now! I won't be back in NY till August. Thanks everyone!
  16. I can't sing her praises enough, and I am so, so, soooooooo stoked on this piece, so here is my finished leg by Stephanie Tamez. Such an awesome person, and I'm gonna miss spending so much time at Saved! Except for a couple details, everything here is healed. Definitely one of my favorite tattoos.
  17. HA! But how do you rewrap your entire back, short of becoming a plastic-wrap mummy?
  18. I had a tattoo healing nightmare the night after the first session on my back piece. I was being chased by a really slow-moving mob, but I couldn't run because every few steps my shirt would adhere to my back and I'd have to stop and very very gently pry it off before I could run again. Even in my sleep my priorities are fucked.
  19. I just started my back with Grez yesterday! Do you have any idea what you're getting yet?
  20. I lived in Athens in 2008 and have fond memories of getting thrown out of the crumbling original Parthenon by about 50 security guards blowing whistles. It'll be fun to see the fake one without all the scaffolding/angry people! I'm really hoping I get to go inside so I can see the really really ugly statue of Athena:
  21. The knee is kind of-sort-of bearable. It's not so much that it's really PAINFUL over the kneecap (next to it is worse I thought) so much as it just feels... cosmically wrong. Kinda like what @jacobhh said, it reminds you that you have a skeleton in a really weird way. Good luck, that's one hell of a day. You are sure as shit tougher than I am.
  22. I rewrap and then dry heal. I seem to swell less if I rewrap, but I think I heal pretty much exactly the same whether or not I put stuff on it. I hate the feeling of aquaphor, so dry healing is a lot less of a hassle. Will probably skip the rewrapping when I start my back, as sitting around with my whole torso mummified in saran wrap doesn't sound like any fun.
