  1. Neurosis in Denver in October, can't wait for that. It's probably been 15 or so years since I saw them last.

saw them totally sober on the through silver in blood tour at the point in atl which would've been 95ish i think. that place was tiny too. by the time i left i felt like i'd been doing drugs the whole show.

    edit: for this

  2. @irezumi rad, and offers a proper perspective to learning. Studying an art or craft escapes those that view it from a pedestrian viewpoint. Its easy to assign opinions based solely on the repeating of what we've heard before. Which to me is ironic to the replication of imagery or patterns. Folks who are playing guitar in metal bands that have perfected their form of shredding might even be unaware of Al di meola and his invention of style but may have learned some Eddie van halen. Even when we learn we cannot find the beginning if we are always trying to be the magic sky wizard (god) and the creators of every thing we think is new. To create better things I had to remove that aspect of ego. Only then could I learn and it started with trying to repeat and understand what worked and why.

As always, quality contribution. Thanks for posting that.

  3. I know, and I usually do. Since I resurrected a sleeping thread, maybe I should have prefaced my comments with <irony=ON><sarcasm=ON>

I just though it ironic that everyone is trashing the girl for stereotypes (and she needed to be called out) but then a poster here commenting that grandmas wearing clothing to show off a tattoo are somehow incapable or unable to help raise and nurture grandchildren.

The point I was making is that someone could say that someone looks trashy based on how they dressed as described in this article just as easy as saying someone with tattoos could be classified that way. It was more of stating a flaw in the logic of this person.

I feel like anyone who is genuine and caring towards others can raise kids/grandkids no matter how they dress or the amount of tattoos.

  4. Ehhhh, I found this thread looking for nice clothing/swimwear I can wear to show off a back piece I'm in the middle of getting. I am a relatively new (and younger) grandmother, currently handing out life lessons to my two granddaughters. They (or their parents) don't know the piece is in progress, and I've spent a fair amount of time thinking about how to talk to the girls about "grandma's stickers" (the oldest, 3, is putting stickers all over everyone's bodies and on my arms, face, etc.) I've got a couple months til May when the cat's out of the bag.

    So grandma's can't wear classy open-back dresses? Open-back swimsuits?

I think I'll go get my nails done and put on my high-heeled shoes.

I think you should wear whatever makes you happy. I don't even remember the exact article content to clarify my statement. But folks should do what makes them happy and comfortable. Be classy, be trashy, don't let others dictate which you want to be.

  5. Gabriel Cece might be the right person to check into.....

There are many good solid artists in the areas you mentioned and I am sure you will find the right one to do your tattoo!

Co-signed! Gabriel is for sure a good suggestion and there's definitely plenty of folks in that area that are more than capable.

I mean its not like we're talking about some tiny town in the middle of the country that's 2 hours from a major city.

  6. Its time to go in to shops and start to check out them out. You might find more photos and possibly examples of folks work that is exactly what you're looking for...not everything end up on the internet. I've said it before but use it as a tool to narrow stuff down which you have. Now see which person you go talk to can accomplish your goal. There's plenty of capable folks in the areas you've mentioned. If its meaningful, it'll be worth all the effort involved.

  7. I saw Robert Fisher play solo more years ago than I care to think about because it makes me feel old (I would guess around 2005?) and he has one hell of a voice. Really good performer and a nice guy from what I recall.

I got a sampler that came with an uncut magazine I think. It had a track and I always liked it and would put it on mix tapes/cds/playlists and several years ago that song started to really stick in my head more than before. Find myself humming the tune or get part of the lyrics stuck in my head so I started trying to track down more stuff. If it weren't for the internet, probably wouldn't have found anything since no stores I've been in have carried any.
