My wife is for sure the awesomest person I've ever met. And yes, that keyboard scenario would be a nightmare! Haha! Technology is a double edged sword.@JAllen, of course, we very much appreciate your contributions. And I can't imagine how much it would suck to be away from your family. Your wife must be much nicer than I am.
Regarding technology glitches, the p key and the backspace key on our keyboard were broken for a month before we finally replaced it. So annoying.

Hey @dari, I know exactly what you mean. My computer died last summer so I can only check stuff here on my phone or at the shop. The house remodeling is a full time job too, and trying to fit that around working a job is consuming. Yep, I'm still trying to sell the house and get back to Atlanta. Last year was a pretty crappy year altogether but hoping something happens so I can get moved. I'm usually pretty patient but I miss my wife and kid. Thanks for your kind works, greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that you can do tribal or some type of design and it doesn't have to cover the spots exactly to be effective at masking or distracting from the areas that bother you.

Monte Agee in Indianapolis does nice black and grey in a similar style. He's down to earth and a nice dude. Not sure what his waiting list is like but I'd say with any of the folks you mentioned, you might also check and see if they are doing any conventions. You might find that they'll be a little closer to where you live and might be able to tattoo you despite their normal waiting list period. Everybody does their convention appointments different so you might luck out. With all that said, I think its kind of in poor taste to approach getting a tattoo by just posting some portfolio pics from people and then asking strangers if those people will do what YOU want. Go out and visit people in your area. Talk to them, look at their work, and see how you feel. You're not obligated to get tattooed by someone just because you discussed your ideas.

i just started looking at knives and the range of stuff that's out there is nuts. better late than never, i guess! i'm keeping it fairly low budget (for now), currently carrying a SOG Trident Mini and a Kershaw Cryo is in the mail. i tend to have an addictive/collecting personality, so knowing that, my wife said, "you should just get ONE!" i'm already up to two (shhhhhhh!) and interweb surfing for more.
does anyone check out the EDC website that Jeff Crib mentioned in his LST interview? there's definitely some good stuff on there and it's influenced me to start carrying a flashlight too (fenix E05). again with the better late than never, i'm finally putting together a go bag. one of the first things i put in was dryer lint, per Jeff Crib's fire starting demonstration. after reading this thread, i'm strongly considering the addition of a ka-bar.
this forum's full of enablers!
Get a nice little magnifying glass for your bag too. Non expensive and comes in handy for making fire when other options aren't available or are in depleted supply or you have to ration them.

People can be honestly excited about your tattoo even if its not related to the imagery. They might just enjoy tattooing you and talking to you or getting to be a participant in some design that is significant to you or many other reasons one might get excited about it. Its not always about the imagery.

I started lurking more and posting less after trying to encourage people to quit wasting time posting and talking about crappy tattoos and scratchers. The response to what I said seemed like people were determined to call me self righteous and that combined with how the guy flamed @Ursula off the board left me feeling less motivated to say stuff. I've posted occasionally since then but figure it doesn't really matter if I do or if I don't.

I saw strife in 93 with focused and earth crisis at the somber reptile in atl. No clue what they'd be like now but they were pretty incredible back then.

Ego of the "artist" is the best explanation. Really the only stuff I'm not too fond of are the roses. Most of it isn't stuff I'd get tattooed but I'll put it on people if that's what they like. I do think that the jd crowe/tattoo brand stuff is a bit tougher and cooler looking but still retains that same vibe.
There's an eagle in jeff crib's portfolio of an eagle tear out that is cherry creek but shows how you can make any of that stuff even cooler looking.

As a State of Ohio Liquor ticket holder, I can tell you that only a store with a full liquor ticket can sell with a alcohol content over 17%. A beer and wine ticket, like those held by grocery stores and gas stations can sell beer, wine, mixed drinks in sealed containers, and low proof liquor. Standard 80 proof liquor is not permitted to be sold with that ticket.
Some grocery stores do have a full ticket but then there is a separate sales area that is not part of the store it's self.
You can not purchase booze at a drive thru, gas station or inside the regular sales area of a grocery store. That is illegal in Ohio.
I know I used to get 80 proof at the grocery but then again I haven't bought liqour in a while. About the only thing I've gotten is beer. Now I'm curious to see what they're selling at the drive thru and grocery around here. I know one of the state liqour stores here is the only place to get the undilluted stuff.
*just checked the drive thru by the shop and they are 42 proof and below. The other drive thru is in the state liquor store so I know that inside is different than what you can get in the drive thru part. When were the last reg changes?
-
Most liqour brands do this, I think mainly to meet whatever the local and state regs are for alcohol content sales. Like here in ohio, you can only buy liqour over 80 proof at "state" liqour stores. Everyone that sells liqour has to have a state licence but certain state approved liquor stores can sell the higher proof stuff. So you can get a bottle of just about anything that's 80 proof at the grocery, gas station, and drive thru package stores.
I suppose it seems like a big deal but its how you cut moonshine when distilling it so it doesn't seem that outrageous to me.

Should I just submit myself to the "Dumb Hipster Tattoos" thread? Goddammit.

@metalmancpa, agreed that the tea party aren't metal but they're a great band and severely overlooked.

hammerskins have crossed hammers, sometimes with a bulldog head. usually straight edge kids will have "x"s of some sort, frequently in varisty lettering style. crossed hatchets i've only done and seen on fire fighters.
also, i think that the jd crowe viking playing an axe guitar is pretty rad. there's a line drawing i've got of a reaper playing one also, not sure of it's origin but its definately got the 70's biker vibe going on with it. pretty awesome too.

It's used in some fraternal organizations as one of the symbols of an aspect of their teachings. Sometimes old flash contained masonic and ioof symbols.

in Tattoo After Care
Posted
Your tattoo is a month old? Do not listen to the interweb or other people, go for sure and see the person who did it. Probably no big deal but "just put some oitment on it" isn't always the best solution. If its something totally non-related to the tattoo..ie the tattoo is healed up it may be something else that tattoo aftercare isn't going to address properly.
