So I'm getting my first tattoo tomorrow and I'm superrr Excited!!! I've been preparing for quite some time now. I bought a non-scented lotion all that good stuff. I was just wondering if there is anything that you guys can tell me that I do not know yet. Aftercare, what to do beforehand, etc. Any tips would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

So I finally decided that I am going to get my first tattoo on my inner forearm, which is going to be the roses below. As you can see, the roses below are detailed and shaded. However when I look at my tattoo artists portfolio, his work is like 99% black and white/grey, which is good, however I have not seen many roses that were detailed. I have seen tattoos that he has done but they are not as detailed. However, the artist himself can do very detailed work on other things. I am just worried right now because this is my first tattoo and I want it to be exactly as the picture. Any advices? should I ask the artist flat out if he is capable of doing detailed roses? or should I get another appointment?? Thanks in advance

So I was just wondering if all tattoo artists ( generally speaking that is) use a transfer sheet. I am talking about how the artists usually just trace some purple outline that is put around the part of the body that you want to get tattooed ( sorry I'm a noobie I don't know what it's called) or do some artists just draw straight on the skin from scratch. Like for instance I'm getting my first tattoo in a few days and it's a CUSTOM shop so does that mean they don't use that kind of procedure orr?? Thanks in advance.

So I finally got in appointment for this Thursday to get my first tattoo, It is going to be a band of Black and grey tattoo (I really want it to be detailed) around my inner forearm, under the dip of my elbow. BUT NOT including the dip, (I hear that part of the body is really fragile. Anyways I was just wondering what would be the discomfort level for that area of my body ( I say discomfort because I know that tattoo pain is different from actual physical pain, that its just an annoying pain) This is going to be my first tattoo and I was also hoping to get some nice shading on it. It would be like the picture below but only where the red circle is(not throughout) my forearm , just under the dip of my elbow. Thank you in advance.

So I finally go an appointment to get my first tattoo - which is going to be a band of roses (black and grey) around my forearm like the picture - for Thursday, 6 days from now. The tattoo shop calls itself a custom tattoo shop and I was just wondering what the actual difference is between CUSTOM tattoo shops and the other one. Do they draw directly on your skin from scratch? And not trace a flash sheet or something? Is it more risky to get a tattoo from a custom shop than it is from a normal shop? Thank you in advance.

So I still have not gotten my first tattoo yet, and I am planning on getting it in about a week, my first two are going to be a lion on my forearm and my grandmothers name. However, her name is not in English it is in Amharic (Ethiopian), I have the letter that I want tattooed but I was wondering if there is anything that I need to know about getting a foreign tattoo, Do artists charge more? is it more difficult for them to do? etc. the picture below is what the letters look like. P.S sorry for the dumb questions I'm new to this scene.
