Well, I finally took the plunge and got a forearm tattoo, and I'm glad I did!  Here's my Rock of Ages done by Brian Tiger at Screamin Ink Tattoo in N.J. I've gotta say, this is definitely my favorite tattoo.
P.S. I'm sorry if it looks crooked, it's almost impossible to get a good pic of my arm.

To be honest with you the second guy seems leaps and bounds above the other guy, though I could be a bit biased because I prefer his style. That lion looked a bit...off though. Not bad mind you, there's just something about it that seems off. Add to that the fact that he didn't get back to you on the drawing and I'd go with the second guy. But that's just my opinion.

Man, these are all amazing. Theo does the best demons for sure and I love that scorpion. Alex is back at Idle Hand next weekend and I'm sorely tempted to get something.

Haha yeah in NY/NJ we call tattooing that starts at the hands and ends at the elbow "Puerto Rican sleeves" the Boricua thugs refuse to get tattooed anywhere it won't be seen.

I mean I've done two one on a guy and one on a girl. They were both beauty marks otherwise I wouldn't do em. It's alarming the volume of young kids getting facial tattoos. It's my opinion that you don't look hard when all you have tattoo wise is a few knick knacks on your face. You just look like a dumb asshole.

Hey everyone  just got back from the shop a little while ago. Went in for a touch-up, left with some old school sailor jerry dice. This'll be my last tattoo for a while though, taking a little break.

I just got back from having 4 done. I've had a fascination with the Biblical book of Revelations since I was a kid, and decided to get some tattoos inspired by the four horsemen. After sketching out a rough draft myself, I showed it to my artist who smoothed out the designs a little. The end result looks great but time will tell how they look fully healed. Keep in mind they're only a few hours old.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm happy with it and don't plan on making any changes to it. That being said, when I went in on friday, my artist did say there were a few things he wanted to touch up (some shading that all but disappeared during healing and a few other minor things he noticed) so I'll be going back to the shop on monday for that.

Well, my story is nowhere near as interesting as yours @oboogie but, I went in today planning to get something small for Friday the 13th and, after looking at all the cool flash for a while (while waiting) I settled on this reaper with a shotgun. But my artist gave me an extra discount if I got two and I couldn't resist . So I got a cool Native American arrowhead on the other arm which perfectly fits a gap in between two other tattoos that I couldn't figure out how to fill. I love how both of them came out. Still fresh but I'll post a healed pic in a few weeks.
 

No I meant the first guy, the second lion looked great. Everything has nice clean lines, good shading, etc. I'd definitely go with the second guy. Like @Synesthesia said, the first guy's not bad, but he ain't great either. Average.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I actually gave him 30% down payment for the sketch, which didn't turn out to be good at all. I tried asking for a minor revision and he didn't get back to me anymore. So I guess that's that.
