i'm about halfway through my apprenticeship right now and have never tattooed a grapefruit or any fruit for that matter. i also haven't tattooed myself either. i've only done 18 tattoos so far but all on my friends. would not be opposed to tattooing myself or fruit, just how i'm being taught he kinda threw me right in to tattooing others first.

my girlfriend and i flew out to LA on friday and got tattooed by bob roberts. i really only have these weird spots left and i told him he could do whatever he wants and he just grabbed my arm and pointed to my ditch and was like "right there". walked over to the wall and he goes "what about this one?"

that was great! i've always loved filip's work and would love to get a tattoo from him one day even though i'm pretty damn full at this point. i feel like i would almost be wasting his time asking him make something small for me when i'm sure there is a line out the door of people willing to give him their entire backs and arms and even full suits.

thanks a lot @hogg, i am beyond happy with it. i've been tattooed by max a bunch now but literally only have my back and a houdini tattoo on my bicep from him, so this was the first time he actually just drew my tattoo straight on. i told him what i wanted and he sharpied it on within 10 minutes and asked what i thought. within a minute of him finishing i said man... do you just want to do the other one too?! he said i would be better off waiting for the other hand because healing 2 hand tattoos at once would be no fun at all. considering i'm also healing a decent sized tattoo from robert right now as well.. i'm glad he made that recommendation.

i'm not going to clutter up the board by making a thread for it but.. today i made my first tattoo, and i thought i would share it with you all. i have been apprenticing for a bit and was given my first pair of machines last month. today he let me put this small design on my cousins thigh next to tattoos by all my favorites. was incredibly nerve racking but turned out better than i expected :D

welp just got another appointment with robert ryan for january 2nd but down at electric in NJ this time. getting my hand tattooed 4 days later by max kuhn. starting the year off right, i'd say ;)

yesterday i got this kali from robert ryan while he is guest spotting at old soul. was awesome to get tattooed by one of my favorite tattooers in one of my favorite shops.

got a last minute appointment with robert ryan for december 9th while he's guesting at old soul. can not wait!

saw a full back rock of ages tattoo by timmy tatts recently, said it took him 6.5 hours start to finish. anything is possible

thinking a yellow rose but i'm not 100%. i agree though, we just finished my back up a few months ago so its nice to beable to get some smaller ones from him now.

few recent ones.

just booked an appointment with max kuhn for january. considering pulling the trigger and getting my hand tattooed.

he is a super nice guy and not enough people know of him. he does tattoo a lot of traditional-type portraits and they always come out awesome. super black, just the way i like 'em. old soul is really a magical place. the walls are covered from floor to ceiling in paintings. there's an original rob ryan painting in there thats probably close to 5x5 foot. definitely recommend getting tattooed by him (or any of the guys there) if you get the opportunity!

got this sacred heart yesterday from josh mason @ old soul tattoo. if any of you are ever in the pittsburgh area i definitely recommend checking the shop out, even if you can't get tattooed. best in all of pennsylvania, in my opinion.
