  1. Hey LSTers I was wondering if anyone knew of any traditional/Japanese tattoo artists out on Oki?
  2. @TravisGarcia Getting a hold of that book is almost as difficult as getting an ROA from the man himself. I've been searching for that book for about a year and have only come up empty handed.
  3. @Anisya It sure is, it's a little strange but I enjoyed it.
  4. I serve with the US Navy. I would love a meet up but due to our busy ship schedule I cannot make plans that far down the road, but just keep me posted and I shall do the same!
  5. @Duffa Stationed out of Sasebo in Kyushu, it's a bit of a hassle to hit northern Japan so I usually will take leave around Christmas and hit the shops up near Kyoto and Tokyo instead of heading back to the states.
  6. "They're not tattoos, they're skin illustrations! Don't you ever call them tattoos! "
  7. Due to the fact that I don't see a lot of Japanese artists on here I'll post one up when I go in with Horishow in Fukuoka, JP in a couple of weeks.
  8. How I long for my tattoos to look that faded, really nice!

  13. Hello, my name is Tyler. I've only been getting tattooed for about a year but I just can't get enough of the history and culture that comes along with it. I'm currently active duty in the Navy so I feel like I have a tie with the culture already and I mainly made this account to show the threads I've already read and any new posts that pop up so it can make my lurking time easier. From what I can tell y'all are a bunch of solid ladies and gents and I look forward to learning a little more each day. Thanks!
  14. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good artist on the island of Kyushu, Japan? Can't hit the main island until I take leave and the only guy I've found who is pretty good in my opinion is Horishow from Amitabha Tattoo in Fukuoka AMITABHA TATTOO HORISHOW, 'preciate it. For my recommendations, I've gotten work from Steve Byrne down at Rock of Ages in Austin ROCK OF AGES TATTOO - AUSTIN, TEXAS and Rob Benavides over at Flying Panther in San Diego Flying Panther*Tattoo & Gallery - 2323 Broadway Ste. 101 San Diego, CA 92102 (619) 238-5713
