Back to Horitomo in January after a season off, I took too long of a break and I'm ready to get back in.

Considering how awful it looked, it’s healing so nicely now. Time heals all ❤️ Tattoo is 17 days old now. I highly recommend going to the dr right away if you think something weird is going on. 

I cannot do either. I routinely get lightheaded (or actually feint) when I have blood drawn, though.

I'm no bitch but at times my backpiece using tebori has been absolutely excruciating. You power through it, you find ways, but at times it does feel unbearable....

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend newbies start with a full back piece. But the arms and legs aren't that bad, except for ditches and joints. 
 

To you. It varies greatly person to person. 🙂

Taking blood is exactly that: it's literally sucking the life force out of you. I can't look because the sight of my blood being siphoned into that beaker makes me noxious. No such issue watching a tattoo needle do its work.

I know I have not posted in a while, apologies everyone. Well, we are moving along. It usually feels from uncomfortable to terrible to absolutely IAMGOINGTODIEHERE.
I know it will be worth it. It could always have been worse, I know; at least the shading is tebori. Anyway, after finishing all of the background, we are now methodically creeping up towards the lower back from the back of the right thigh with the colour on the tennyo's kimono and it is ... unpleasant.
Oh and (probably thankfully) I am absolutely not continuing to add to this to the munewari soshinbori coverage level I joked about earlier. There is no way in hell that I could deal with the pain around all the tender bits in front judging by what I have felt on my back.
I need to post some progress photos...

A healed photo showing where I am currently, I'm back in the chair in about two weeks and I can't wait! Looking forward to those last traces of the old pieces disappearing. 
 

IMHO the best way to protect it would be to skip exercise classes until it’s a little more healed. I don’t go to the gym or do any type of intentional exercising until it’s about a week and a half to 2 weeks healed.

But seriously some of this is definitely true. I get nervous before hand and all the way out to Brooklyn still, but as soon as I enter the shop I'm chill. While getting tattooed I tried to talk as much as humanly possible--that gets me through it. And then yes, totally, that last wipe down is such a relief!
And then it's on to the next month....

20 month after my first appointment, after 40h in 12 sessions, my back was finally finished a week ago. I'm so happy that I'm done for now but there are already some plans if and what possibly could be my next step towards an even more colorfull body....😋 Not sure if I'll first go for my right butt cheek and upper thights or if I'll start with my arms... But well, that's the future. Won't probably get anything new until end 2019 or even 2020. At least not until I was able to put some money aside to get it done in a foreseeable period of time.

The first part of my journey comes to an end after 3 years. Chris Crooks finished my entire back today. Time to start saving for the front!

this year it was all backpiece all the time: we finished the background and red and started the green.
this coming year I hope to finish the whole damn thing!
