  1. Thanks! That’s awesome! Love her ❤️
  2. Got this little bowl of ramen tattooed while I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago. Picture taken immediately after session so it’s a little reddish but it has healed really nicely.
  3. Got a new one today! Six marbles by Dyuntats :)

    New tattoo 😁

Wanted to get one more tattoo before the year ended :) Happy New Year, everyone!
  5. I really really like going to my sessions alone. I like being focused on the experience and on connecting with the artist too. I know some artists don't mind having you bring a companion but I also don't want to be worrying about anyone else—if they're okay, are they getting bored, are they hungry—while I'm getting tattooed. (Unless we're both getting tattooed.) My brother went with me one time but that was a really quick session (less than an hour) and the two of us had fun chatting with the artist while she worked. My aunt who was hosting me in Seattle arrived too early to pick me up after my appointment and she soon got bored so she and her husband left to have dinner while I was finishing up (it was a 9-hour session). One time, two travel companions insisted on walking me to the tattoo studio in Denmark. I told them they can say hi to the artist but that they wouldn't be allowed in the tattooing area. So they did that, gushed over his design, and left. Then again it might be a different scenario if you're talking about a person you really really like. Maybe weigh if having her there for the entire five hours would make the experience better for you? Otherwise, maybe you can ask her to drop by when the session is close to being done. :)

    Hello from Manila

Thank you! Of course! Here are some! Rainbow Brite and Amy Winehouse by Jake Good at Artful Dodger in Seattle. Nine hours! My longest sitting ever. Yup I have a taco tattoo 😂 This is by Jim Parchen at Rabble Rouser Tattoos in LA. The brave tin soldier done by Jonny Rhodes at Peoples Art Tattoo in Copenhagen Wednesday Addams by Karla Aggarao here in Manila. But she's moved to the Middle East. Peter Pan by Gmaz at Mofo Tattoos in Hong Kong. Still my most painful tattoo experience ever. Diving girl by Huka at Timeless Tattoo in LA. One of my favorites, especially since she accidentally ended up looking like my grandma. Hansel and Gretel (me and my brother) by Dyun Depasupil at his studio here in Manila. Also one of my favorites. And here are a few more pics:

    Hello from Manila

    It's both! Haha 😬
  12. Relatively new to the world of tattooing but I've made up for lost time by getting over 25 tattoos from 15 artists in less than two years. Sounds a little crazy, I know. It's good to be here.
  13. I tip. Some people expect it (usually artists in the US) and some don't (around Asia and Europe). I remember my tattoo artist in Denmark (he's British) being so surprised by the tip and the little gift I brought for him that he asked if he could give me a hug. I thought it was adorable.
  14. Happy update: my tattoo wasn't infected 😬 I've taken off the Tegaderm and it's peeling and healing nicely. Can't wait for my little monster to fully heal.
  15. Oh god, this kinda made me panic. 😂 But I am holding on to the fact that it's not as painful as it was a few hours ago and that it isn't oozing. Will have it checked, thanks.
  16. Help! I've used Tegaderm to heal my past seven or eight tattoos and haven't had issues with it until now. In fact, I love it. I got my wrist tattooed three days ago and it has quite a bit of shading. I applied Tegaderm hours after the tattoo. Almost three days later, one side lifted and ink leaked (during a date, of all times 😭) so today I decided to take it off and replace it. While washing it, I discovered that the lower part of the tattoo, the area from which the Tegaderm lifted, had peeled prematurely and is kind of red. It smarts too. It's really just that area that's painful and red and now covered with a thin layer of skin. It's also the area closest to my wrist, if that makes a difference. Have any of you experienced this? It's like my tattoo is in two different stages of healing. Is it time to panic?
