  1. I'd think anything that ages your skin will age your tattoos also. Maybe not significantly, but it has to have some affect over years and years.
  2. The purpose of the film or bandage is to keep dirt/germs out of your fresh wound. When you're home it's a controlled area and you can remove it and start cleaning it. My artist told me to leave the wrap on overnight when he did the shading and color on my half sleeve. It got all twisted up during the night and I removed it. When I got my inner forearm tattooed, my artist said he never wraps them... I asked for plastic wrap till I got home and he did. I've lived thru both situations.
  3. You're saying it is on you, but you don't know its meaning? Why would you let someone permanently mark you with a symbol you don't understand? To me, the time for research is long gone.
  4. He knows that now, but not when he did it? That be the big red flag for me not to go back to him. What's he not going to know this time that he'll realize later?
  5. Good God, how's anyone to know from such a shitty photo?
  6. Pricing is very subjective. It depends a lot on your area, the coverage, the design, artist's experience and reputation, their past experience with you, their mood, etc., etc. I wouldn't have a problem asking them (very nicely and non-judgementally) to explain the price and say I thought it would be less. A decent artist shouldn't have a problem explaining that to the person paying for their service. At the end of the day, you have 2 choices. Pay their price or go to someone else. You're not shopping for a can of soup.
  7. Your body, your tattoos, do what you like.
  8. Slow your roll, just let it heal and live with awhile before making any decisions. It's a big change and it takes some time to looking down and seeing something so different. As the colors settle you may change your mind and decide you like it.
  9. So then @Hogriderwas completely justified in his comment, you got something permanently tattooed on your body and have no idea what it says. Maybe find a forum for Buddhist monks and ask them.
  10. My tattoo addition from yesterday at the Veterans benefit at Broad Wing Tattoo in Bowling Green, OH. Great participating in such a meaningful event. They posted today on IG that they raised about $7300 for Vietnam Veterans of America. 3 more nails in the coffin.
  11. Do you realize the person that you're replying to posted that in 2014? They also haven't visited the forum since then. Every aftercare I've ever read or heard says not to swim for a certain length of time after being tattooed. If you can't follow the instructions given why bother getting it?
  12. That's what got me thinking about the whole subject. Seems like there could be a way to do that... as long as it didn't make ink a thousand dollars a bottle.
  13. When most things become popular there always seems to be advancements in the technology. Companies see the opportunities and put money into R&D, even if it's not something they've done before. It seems to me that tattooing is at what's probably the crest of its popularity and as such should be seeing some advancements. Is anyone doing this? Is there any improvements that can actually be made? I realize it an age old tech, but just about everything can be improved.
  14. I was curious, so I did a little googling. The only places on our bodies that have what is classified as thick skin is places that see abrasion, like finger tips, palms and soles of your feet. So ya, they were feeding you BS. 💩
  15. I agree with everyone else that it's good the way it is. I'm not a tattoo artist, but I gotta believe covering black (I assume it's black underneath) with yellow wasn't the best plan. But that's just me.
  16. Sounds like you've already made up your mind. Honestly, if you don't point it out, 95% of people would never notice it.

    Regards

I always think it's best to get a simple tattoo as your first and save the large/special meaning one for later. Take it slow, learn the ropes and make sure you know about the process before jumping into a big one. Just my 2 cents.
  18. The problem with a "lines only" tattoo is that's all your eye has to focus on so you're more likely to notice flaws. If there was shading or color you'd be much less likely to notice shaky lines. If you look closely at some outstanding black and gray or color tattoos by really good artists, you'll probably see some shaky lines. They're just a much smaller part of the whole piece.
  19. Sorry, non-pc joke... Why did God make Belgium? To give the French someone to make fun of. 🤣 Have a wonderful trip and please share some pics.

    Am I botched?

I don't know, I read it before reading your post. It's your call as what to do with it, just live with it awhile and be sure you know what you want. Don't jump from one mess into another.
