  1. Thanks for the reply! I am used to getting tattooed jetlagged as this will be my third time getting tattooed after travelling internationally. The first time, I arived in JFK from London and headed straight to Saved for a session on the inside of my thigh. I don't plan on getting tattooed on the day of arrival this time but most probably the day after. I really appreciate the input, I like to think I am fairly experienced but just wanted to get some opinions on back to back days vs spaced out which you have done and I will be taking it all on board. I've had about 4 sessions so far on my back with Chad and the impression I get is that he works in 3 hour slots. Everything have been quoted price wise is for 3 hour sessions so I don't want to really rock the boat and say 'hey, can I do 2 x 4 hours please' I'd rather just go with what I have been told and as I said earlier, be as accommodating as possible. I'd like to have my game plan all set out before I book in and book my travel to make my booking as smooth as possible hence seeking advice on here first before bothering Chad/ROA with questions. 2 sessions back to back then a day or 2 off then another session sounds great and will try my hardest to follow this guideline. Thank you!
  2. Thank you for taking the time to reply! I totally agree with everything you have said. The main reason for my post was that I am just a little bit shy when it comes to talking to tattooists that I really admire and just wanted to prep myself with some input from people on here so I can be as accommodating as possible. 2 x 4-5 hours is something I had thought about and will defiantly be discussing that with Chad/the shop. Thank you!
  3. Hi everyone, Hope you don't mind me posting a question that relates to this thread. I started my back piece with Chad when he was visiting London, now the time has come for me to visit Rock of Ages to continue working on it. I can only really manage 7-10 days off work and as I am traveling very far was hoping to do 3x3 hour sessions (3 hour sessions is all I have ever known since getting tattooed 12+ years) and I get the impression that is how Chad likes to work. Before I call the shop to book in, I wanted to be a bit more clued up in regards to 3 sessions in a week being perceived as doable from the clients point of view and if so do I do them in a row or space out a day or 2 in between. It's just as I am coming all the way from England I want to get as much tattooing done that I can handle whilst I am there to reduce the amount of trips I will have to take to finish the piece. Hope it's ok posting this in here. Cheers!
  4. Do you live in mainland europe? If not, make the most of it and get the 2hr flight to Barcelona and get tattooed by Jondix. That's what I would do.
  5. So I got my palm tattooed by Stewart at Frith Street several years ago and it was a walk in the park, super easy. I have also been getting tattooed by Thomas Hooper since he was at into you about 9 years ago and am fully aware of how heavy handed he is. So, I'm over at Saved and I think it's about time for Thomas to do my other palm. what could go wrong? I'd had the other one done at FST for christ's sake, it was easy! Boy how wrong I was!! Alarm bells started ringing when I was sent down the street to Alligator Lounge to have a couple of shots of Whiskey on Hooper's orders whilst he drew up the design. I get back, and within a few minutes we are ready to go. My first palm tattoo is a circular design that does not stray to far to the edges of my hand. This new one however is a lot bigger, covering my entire thumb pad and up to my fingers. The thumb pad can't be that bad I think, Thomas asks me where I want to start and I suggest that area. Boy how wrong was I!! Within seconds I had Gob from Arrested Development in my head saying 'I've made a huge mistake'. I am dripping with sweat almost instantly, this is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life ever. Worse than Hooper hammering my chest or Koeplinger tattooing my ribs for 3+ hours. Just instant, horrifying pain. I tough it out, concentrate on my breathing and go to my happy place and 45 minutes later we are done. I am so glad I only have 2 palms because I would never ever ever do that again!
  6. Follow him on Instergram, he will post when and where his upcoming guest spots are and how to contact him, usually by the email address above. When you first email him you will receive an automated response walking you through a few things you need do to secure an appointment and how to leave a deposit via paypal. He is tattooing at the London convention but on a first come first served basis doing flash and 1 off drawings that he has already done and will also be working at Frith Street either the week before/after or both. Good luck, I am currently a couple of sessions into a back piece by Chad, I hope you get to get tattooed by him. Take care.
  7. I'm undergoing this right now, it's true. Next session in September, keep an eye on instagram.
