  4. Houston beer festival is tomorrow. 85 tents, each with 3-5 beers apiece. 3-4 music stages. 94 degree temps expected. Sunscreen already packed. Good thing we booked a hotel within walking distance.
  5. Basically, you're going to want to find artists who excel in realism. Those who can do portraits are also those who can do realistic reproductions of statues and such. Nice thing about doing a full sleeve is that if you discuss in advance the long term goals with whichever artist you eventually choose, he/she can finish parts of it as often as you can afford more. Their ideas on flow and design will already be there whenever you're ready to continue.

  15. this^ In my mind, a "collector" is someone who is serious about what they get and who they let do it. And as far as I have perceived regarding the artist's perspective on the term, when I've been in a shop and showing my previous work - when one artist said the word "collector", two other artists stopped what they were doing to come over and see. They were genuinely interested.
  16. Welcome. Skimmed the long version. Finding the right artist is certainly key. Hang out here and learn about what makes a tattoo good or mediocre. Post up portolios of artists you are curious about and ask opinions here.
  17. Welcome! Where are your doing your apprenticeship?
  18. Welcome! Great story, and what f*kin' luck. Can't help you with strictly traditional in Tononto (some here likely will be able to), but I really like David at Archive Tattoo :: Home
