  1. I'm a brewer and recently started brewing in a brewpub (not the sort of place that attracts beer nerds though) after nearly five years in production brewing and maybe it's because I'm not very used to interacting with the general drinking public, but I'm constantly amazed at how little people know about beer...which would be fine except for that so many of these people pretend to know things. Like probably about two or three times a week as I'm milling grain or shovelling out the mash at the end of lautering or whatever, people will watch me work and then talk to themselves about how those are hops because it's like the only ingredient in beer they know is hops. If I'm not too busy I try to educate people if they're interested and show them the raw materials and let them smell and touch them and try to leave them with a better understanding of brewing than they had when they came into the pub, but yeah, most people have no clue.

It won't be long before craft breweries have kids standing in line for no-wage apprentiships, just like tattoo parlors. :D

  2. Houston beer festival is tomorrow. 85 tents, each with 3-5 beers apiece. 3-4 music stages. 94 degree temps expected. Sunscreen already packed. Good thing we booked a hotel within walking distance.

  3. AHHH I see! well I want a Greek god themed sleeve. All greys. I'm looking for someone who is really good with shading and creativity. The sleeve I want isn't mapped out in my head at all. I have the gist of it but that's about it. I basically want to have 50 different tattoos inside the one blended. HA it's hard to explain!!! Does anyone know of a great greek god artist?

Basically, you're going to want to find artists who excel in realism. Those who can do portraits are also those who can do realistic reproductions of statues and such. Nice thing about doing a full sleeve is that if you discuss in advance the long term goals with whichever artist you eventually choose, he/she can finish parts of it as often as you can afford more. Their ideas on flow and design will already be there whenever you're ready to continue.

  4. I have a yoneyama snake in my leg as filler, he also did a hermit crab/skull on the side of my knee. Two of my favourite tattoos!

I usually never post my own tattoos but Williams work needs showing off

What a combo!! Couldn't have picked better subject matter for his style. Fabulous.
