My 17 year old son came into town a few weeks ago and he's an avid fisherman. He's always been into it, but I never took the time to go out with him to the lake when he was younger. Well, this time, I went out with him and brought my two daughters and fiance as well and had a blast. Right before he went back home, we stopped at the local Academy and I bought a cheap rig for myself and my oldest daughter (my youngest already had a pee wee rig). Went out once last weekend with just the girls and they got bored (probably not early enough to catch anything). This weekend, I went out with my girl and fished twice- once in the morning, once in the evening. Damn, it was so relaxing. I didn't catch anything, but I really just enjoyed sitting in the quiet listening to the woods breathe.
I also dropped my bike off at a cool local shop to fix a head gasket leak. It's been an issue for several years, but I'd put it off because I'd already switched the gaskets once (different shop) and my pride wouldn't let me spend another $500+ doing the same repair. I finally came to senses and got tired of getting my jeans/ lower leg covered in scalding oil and it is now being fixed correctly.
Lastly, I'm putting together a grand opening art show here in town with local printer Mindzai Creative (also in Atlanta) called "ATX Works: The Working Class Show" theme chosen because it falls the weekend before Labor Day. I've meeting with Scott at Mindzai a few nights a week to work out artists, sponsors, fliers, DJ, etc. Last artshow I put together was years ago, so it's been a re-learning process.

@Lochlan and I have been kayaking and paddle boarding at Schoonmaker Point in Sausalito. There are tons of seals out there -so cute and very playful! Great exercise while working on my tan :cool:

I had a trauma doc at my hospital buy my partner and I coffee for doing some kick-ass patient care today. The dude still died, but felt good to hear a doc tell me I did a good job rather than yelling at me for not doing "enough". This was even after he threw up nasty coffee-ground vomit all over the team.

@tammy it might be too early to tell me this since this trip is just an idea right now but for the LSTers that are coming from other countries are you able to help us get plane tickets to the destination or are we responsible for handling that?

we can def. get you rates...sometimes it is cheaper to get air from your own destination but we can give you the option ;)

2014 it is...i'll put together some details including some resort options.
i think we should narrow it down to cabo and riviera maya.
cabo has better surf (and we went last time for our group trip) but Riviera maya has better beaches and more things for family events (ruins, cenotes, eco-parks, etc.)
also, room rates tend to be a smidge better in RM.
We will do all-inclusive because it is easier to manage group meals, etc.
I am sorry but we will only do 4-star and up resorts because most will be bringing kids and better safe than sorry with montezuma's revenge.
I can get really great rates in mexico but if you find a cheaper package online (expedia or orbitz) we can usually price match rates.

Would also need a good group rate on sunscreen! :)

Got tattooed by lester at electric ladyland in new orleans this weekend. A piece of flash of their awesome spider murphys collection. Got to see his mike wilson backpiece, such a nice dude and awesome tattoo.

It's far from finished, and there's far to go yet, but here's a picture of the progress on my backpiece. This is after three sessions and a total of 10.5 hours of tattooing.

Richard doesn't like horses at all really, but they do make pretty images, designs, paintings... These are from a while back, but you get the point...

I am putting this out there really far in advance, but would anyone be interested in a riviera maya or cabo LST get together?
We have vacationed together ( @Lochlan, @Scott Sylvia, @ dari, @steve1461686340, @Barbie Doll) to cabo and it was a blast.
If I were to organize something like that again, would anyone be interested?

I own a large travel agency so I could probably get some really good rates.
It would probably not be until June 2014 to properly prepare...we may be able to pull together something earlier like June 2013 but we would need to get commitments earlier.

Just got booked in for a small one with Deno at the London Tattoo Convention.
I wasn't going to get tattooed there this year but I have no will power.
