  1. I am perplexed by you Brian wermwood. did you want sympathy from this post?

after you first realized that being a scratcher meant no love, why would you even think that going into a shop as a random dude not laying a dollar on the table, and spilling your scratcher beans out was gonna work for you?

you actually told them your stealing their hard earned food from their table and then go on to say you want to suck up some info from them..

and you thought it would go down any other way?

    you kinda got off easy!

my mentor/shop owner literally refers to me as his bulldog, as its one of my shop duty's to physically remove scratchers/solicters/douchebags from the floor.

and i take it personal with scratchers cause im here busting my ass all week for peanuts with a wife and 2 kids and some dudes out there trying to take easy street and by pass the hard work to clock dollar.. basicly your crossing dudes picket line

  2. Yes writing isn't about the money...true I except that premise...then why have so many writers going into Tattooing? for the love? for the craft? or to support there writing? Its just a question...

i want to state first and foremost i dont want to come off like im tryin to be a dick or "slaying" thats not my place here or anywhere on the net...

i feel like tattooing for me was just a natural life progression, i love tattoo's getting them learning about them and i like being creative. i dont like the art "scene" or much care to paint canvas. it doesnt get me off like writing does.

tattooing would not fund my graffiti, graffiti for me is "free" consider homedepot ect. a sponcer as i was pretty prolific with my racking.

i kinda lost interest with graffiti as i realized i was taking a fun nick name game to serious and when my son asked my why i just marked on the box truck in traffic and around the same time was focusing more on tattooing. ?(dont get me wrong i still get it in)

this is just me, i cant speak on other writers. but to be honest money doesnt have much to do with why i got invloved i make maybe 10$ a day as an apprentice where im at work 60 hours a week. basicly pays for lunch.

im currently located in a small seasonal town so wont make much money when i do tattoo. and as a young in skill tattooer i wont think ill see much money if and when i move.

but it gets me out of the house keeps my quest and hunger for knowledge fufilled as i cant see any end to me learning.

    and legal fee's way down.

i can go on for ever but i doubt you or anyone else could give a shit about some dudes life.

i wish you good luck on your quest. you can message me in private if you wish to discuss any graffiti type shit further.

  3. there is a guy i work with he does some decent tattoo's and he keeps hinting at tattooing me and when do i want to get a tattoo from him its the least he can do for me as i treat him well and setup/breakdown his station. but i kinda dont want a tattoo from him, hes kind of a douche bag. but i dont want to ruffle any feathers so i kinda humor him, i need to find a way out of it. he has a huge ego has been tattoing for 2 or 3 years and acts like hes been in it for 20 has like 3 tattoos from others guys in the shop, not that that matters im just ranting, done.

  4. i'm 34 and if you want something bad enough you will make the sacrifice, maybe have to be some ones bitch.. and as a career graffiti writer i can tell you nothing has happened to that scene remotely close to tattooing. graffiti isnt or ever will be about a dollar.

edit when i say career writer it isnt be cause thats what i did for money, its because i dedicated every day all around the country for over 15 years to nothing but that.

  5. @Hogrider, I'm speaking more on the customer who walks in to the cutom shop and it goes like this,

customer: Yo' I'm lookin to get some ink you have time now?

tattooer: what are you looking to get?

    cutomer: i dont care'

tattooer: do you have any idea's

cutsomer: you're the artist, you tell me.

i understand what your saying about letting the artist do what they want, but usually that kinda happens anyway, from my experience cutomer gives idea, tattooer runs with it and interprets it the best possible way for tattooing.

at least you have an idea of what you want ie japanese style.

I appreciate you input in my post.

  6. It's just a faux pas. It's like for me, when I am designing something for a client and they say they want it to "pop" more. Fuck that noise.

i hear ya, also i dont like "tatty" "lookin to get some ink" over use of "incorporate" or the phrase "i dont care"/your the artist"..im kinda lame like that..but if some one doesnt care about what their getting what motivation am i suposed to have?

  7. I was super excited for me and my wife to get tattooed by him earlier this month, then when i got the call sayingthat our appointment gonna happen, i almost went to mild depression for a few days, bummed for all 3 of us. oh how i needed a little vacation up there.

  8. Aside from showing respect to this forum, you have no respect for your craft, no respect for your mentor. and no repect for yourself. get over the internet, it's not how you learn the trade or solve problems. i dont buy that excuse that you cant get tattooed at another shop go to the next county over. your fucking people up and aew not even making a real attempt to solve your problem. google is not for tattooers.

but i supose i am beating a dead horse. and what do i know i am just an apprentice who slaves 80 hours a week in trade for proper training in the craft. so fuck what i say. but you should be working harder.

  9. Drink of Kings.

I spent about 45 minutes tonight in the aisle of the local liquor store debating Makers/Ginger vs. Jim/Coke...Jim/Coke won tonight. Jim/Ginger is my drink. Cheers.

45minutes, thats a man making a calculated decision. I can get down with that.
