so excuse me if for some reason I’ve posted this story twice. 
 
a similar thing happened to me, but with my grandad. He unfortunately had a stroke and lost his marbles - previously a very proud man (an architect) and wasn’t overly fond of tattoos however.. I got a fairy tattooed on my shoulder about 10 years ago representing my grandparents because I went fairy hunting with them as a young child and it was such a special, magical time in my childhood that I wanted to keep a reminder.. anyhow. After he had his first stroke (unfortunately he had numerous) I showed him, he had tears in his eyes and stroked her gently and told me how beautiful she was. It really upset me but in a good way, because I knew at that moment it meant something to him too. 
 
I also have “tomorrow’s another day” tattooed on my collarbone because it’s a saying my dad told me growing up (he suffered with depression, as did I growing up) so it was a constant reminder to try and remember that although today may be shit... tomorrow will hopefully be better.

and a “tiny bit sore like tiny bit”.. tattoos hurt, during and after, certain parts of my sleeve hurt for two weeks and were swollen for a week at least... if you’re worried; go to a doctor, or back to the tattoo artist, none of us are able to tell you what’s right or wrong for your body.

Just thought I’d share some progress on my turkey vulture back piece. Around 12 hours in and it’s coming together! This piece has really tested me mentally and physically. I just got out of Covid quarantine and my body was not at all prepared to handle a tattoo. This last 4.5 hour session was brutal. I feel like such a little baby but this back piece has been deeply painful! I love being tattooed but getting them... do not enjoy 

I was nursing in a busy inpatient ward at the time, so it's likely I picked it up from my workplace 🙂
edited to add: Sorry, I didn't mean the MRSA travelled through air, I meant the air and fluids mixed to create the best environment for MRSA to thrive

Hey all, haven't been around for a while but I did go through another shading session with Chad on the big bat that I thought I would share. 

Normal. Just follow the directions of your artist in terms of cleaning and moisturiser. 
Don’t over moisturise. 

We get this question a couple of times a week.
A tattoo take 4 - 6 weeks to heal. Unless it's red, oozing, smells bad, extremely painful, just let it heal. You won't know what it's going to look like until it's healed. No sneak previews.

my initial question would be = are the other images "bad" because of subject matter, style or execution? Lots of artists work in more than 1 style - that's versatility. Subject matter is most often up to the canvas. If the other photos show poor application, poor linework or poor artistic choices then you'd be taking a huge gamble that this person is going to show up just the way you want them to on the day you're sitting in front of them. Some dirtbags even put other artist's work in their own portfolios. Consistency is very important. 

I honestly don’t know how anyone can even remotely think that... could be due to shit aftercare. No amount of shit aftercare can attribute to terrible lines; doesn’t even look like they went deep enough AND to top it off; that much ink fall out is craziness. I’d be rockin up to where I got it done and demanding a refund; on top of that abusing the crap out of them for such a shit job. As you mentioned, at least it’s light enough to be covered up. I feel sorry for the OP but seriously. No more “pop ups”. And definitely do some research on reputable tattoo artists in your area.  

Yeah it stinks but your work is also very nice. I’m just glad the outer part of my arm is good 

😊 I train and break actually. When she was planning the design she saw photos of my horse on Instagram and made the design after her without me even mentioning it. 

I’ve got a blow out on my sleeve. I kinda knew as soon as I saw it that it was, mine definitely looks like a bruise but it’s under my arm so not very noticeable. Yours is super light (so is mine) so is even if it is permanent; you’ll probably be the only one to notice it. Certain parts of your arm are more sensitive than others. My arm swelled like a puffer fish on the inside; and bruised like a mofo. Nice tat though, I love horses. 

Yep. "pop-up" tattoo is just another word for "un-licenced". 

The reason I sounded confident that it is a blowout is that I have one on the inside of my left upper arm. It was covered up with "filler" when my artist finished my sleeve. He was so pissed that it blew out, but it is the only one I have in all the tattoo he's done for me (and that's 99% of my tattoos). It's not a big deal. As @Hollie said, almost no one will notice it except for you.

Uh. You sure this was a tattoo artist and not a 13 year old kid having some fun scribbling?? No offence to you, but your artist was shithouse. 

It's funny, he's running around with that fine tattoo worried about it and I know a lot of people walking around with tattoos I wouldn't put on my worst enemy, all proud about them. Seriously, how does anyone not recognize that it's really nice work?
