  1. Thanks for the advice. It did stop oozing after a couple days and no longer stings. Now, it just feels like a hard scab is there and I am anxiously waiting for it to fall off. Do you think that the final appearance of the tattoo will be affected?
  2. I have an old tattoo from several years ago and after scraping the area there is a patch of ink that looks really dark compared to the rest of the design. The look is very similar to the dark spot in the above photo, and it feels like a scab has formed there. Yesterday, the skin was oozing. Should I put moisturizer on it or just keep it dry? I am afraid of any potential damage to the design that may be visible after it heals.
  3. @Rosebud91291 I completely understand your anxiety. My tattoo also has special meaning to me and I am ashamed of having made such a mistake. I recently grazed my skin on a year-old tattoo and after a few days it looked like the top layer of skin was peeling off. Now there is a shiny white spot where the peeling occurred. I am super worried about a scar forming on top and effectively changing the design. In certain lighting there is no white visible and instead the ink appears more vibrant, so I am hoping that the mark is a temporary part of the skin healing again. It has only been a week and am hoping it will go away on its own but could use some reassurance as well. There was no bleeding so I am guessing that this has only affected the epidermal layer of skin. Can anyone advise if a visible scar can result or will I be okay in a few weeks? I will try to relax and wait as well, but doing so is difficult, so any insights would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I found this thread after becoming concerned about waiting to touch up my 10 month old tattoo. I am worried that the new ink won't blend in with the old color the longer I wait. I am trying to get it done as soon as I can but things are tough right now and beyond my control. Is this a valid concern or am I overthinking things, too?
