Hey guys. Long time no post. Heres an update to this thread. I finally found another artist i liked and got the tattoo i wanted. Check it out. 🙂
I actually was aware of the artist for quite some time but it took me a while to finally be able to make an appointment with them. 
Its a tattoo of the character Morpeko from Pokemon.

Anything that affects the way the skin looks will affect the way the tattoo looks. The more important question is, "does it matter?" and the answer to that is no. Get your tattoo and don't worry about your veins.

As the others have said it’s fine too get what you want but you need to tell the Tattoo artist and let them do there thing. It’s fine to make a few changes but how many times did you contact them, I’m guessing at some point it became too much. The thing is the artist knows what they are doing so what they come up with is usually better than anything we come up with ourselves, not always but the more free reign the artist has the better the tattoo ends up. I hope you do manage to get the tattoo you want. 

Same. If I trust the artist (and I do trust the guy who has done 99% of my tattoos), tell him roughly what you want and let them do their thing. Micromanaging a talented artist is gross, and you will end up annoying the artist like you did this person.

My advice would be to think it through before the consultation. If you want changes, think them through and send a single email. A good tattoo artist is busy. What if all their clients sent multiple emails?
Yes, you should get the tattoo you want, but you also need to trust your artist. For my first sleeve I said, “Japanese, anything you want.” It turned out great. Same with my back. All my other work I threw out ideas, but what he came up with was way better than I imagined.

So i did an in person consultation with a tattoo artist and made an appointment with him. During the two months leading up to the appointment i remembered a few things i forgot to mention during our in person consultation. Long story short, after sending him one too many emails the tattoo artist sent me an email saying that he feels i dont trust him enough and that im micromanaging the tattoo design so he doesnt want to do it anymore. 
 
On the plus side he said he would refund me my deposit and at least this time i didnt end up with a tattoo that i have regrets about. On the down side of things i feel bad because i had been planning this tattoo since january. i really like his individual style and im not sure if hell ever consider letting me book him again. 
 
I just wanted to express my thoughts on the subject. I seem to have a problem with finding a balance between speaking up at all and speaking up too much about things. I sent him an email asking if maybe he would change his mind but not sure if he will consider it. 

Not sure the exact style but i would guess someone who specialises in black and grey/ realistic could do it.

i got a tattoo i wanted back in june but now i want it colored in so im trying to schedule a second appointment with the same artist. hopefully ill get it done by novemeber.

i was getting worried. 

i probably would have tried to book him on a later date if he hadnt replied but good thing he did. 

there are things that i have anxiety about with tattoos of mine that i didnt think about before i got them. 
 
one of my tattoos is the name of a person who died.  there are others who knew the person, and i sort of have anxiety about them wondering if its alright for me to have their name tattooed on me. 
also i have anxiety about some family members and friends of my family seeing them. i dont really have a problem with just wearing clothes that make them invisible but its something that came to mind after i got tattooed. 
 
i feel like people cant be expected to be imaginative enough to really think about every single possible way a tattoo will effect their lifestyle. even with that said though i kind of feel bad about not having the mental creativity to come up with the questions that would have lead to the answers that would have helped me.

Hi im new to the forum. i have three tattoos i got from the same shop. not all of mine are that great. heres how my experiences have been so far... 
 
first tattoo - a person i knew died and i got their name on my arm. it came out good. the only thing i sort of wish i did differently was not get the entire name in capital letters but that doesnt really bother me. 
second tattoo - got another lettering tattoo on my right wrist in dark blue ink. the placement didnt come out as straight as i wanted it but i kind of blame myself for misjudging the stencil and being worried i was going to bother the tattoo artist if i asked to keep re applying it. also i didnt find out until after my third tattoo that i shouldnt have gotten it facing me. 
third tattoo - i got some album artwork on my left wrist that is pretty much made up of 4 squares that form a braille letter R. i got it done by the same guy that did my second tattoo. one of the squares is slightly mishapen and not exactly uniform with the others. also i didnt find out about correct tatttoo orientation until after i got this one. so again i got a second tattoo facing me instead of the other way around. 
 
im quite annoyed i got my wrist tattoos facing me instead of the other way around. i doubt ill get laser treatment, and probably wont cover them up unless i can think of something i really want. Im planning on getting a fourth tattoo soon though. hopefully that one goes good. 
Just wanted to give a quick introduction to myself and my experiences with getting tattooed. looking forward to learning more on the forum. 🙂
