  1. Welcome! What is your issue with artists in NYC if you don't mind me asking? For NJ, I would recommend Electric Tattoo in Bradley Beach, NJ. But knowing exactly where your located would help us direct you to someone in your area. If you're in the NY/NJ area, NYC really is the way to go... Not a lot of *decent* shops outside the city, IMO.
  2. Well... I just cancelled my appointment with Kim Anh Nguyen. I've been going back and forth for some time since I had some financial troubles... but I have more solid ideas for finishing my arm with Grez, so I decided to just focus on that for now. Originally I was going to cancel with Grez and just get something small from Kim. Super bummed that I'm going to miss out on getting tattooed by Kim, but now I'm super excited to start chipping away at my arm (literally and figuratively)!
  3. I think its great. And based off my own experience and other more heavily tattooed folks experiences, you'll wind up loving it even more as you continue getting tattooed (which I hope you will!) You started with a solid piece and I love the way you condensed the quote.
  4. @TrixieFaux @DJDeepFried LST mascot in the making?
  5. @mmikaoj I don't even want to know how you're getting around (or not) with those bad boys on your heels right now... haha great stuff though!
  6. I think if your tattooer says 3 weeks is OK, then you should be fine. Just keep it out of the sun at all costs and don't go overboard with the diving (no pun intended), rest up and whatnot when you can so you're body isn't stressed out.
  7. @Electric i I thought the same thing when I saw Divergent. It was just weird...
  8. I love this. Especially because my MIL is constantly trying to tell me I should stop getting tattooed and instead save my money for the *future* which = her grandbabies. Don't really feel like being broke just yet...
  9. Well, technically this isn't really a myth. If you share needles you could get hepatitis or HIV (both STDs... even though you're not contracting them via sex). This is only a concern if you don't got to a professional, but I know plenty of people who tout that getting tattoos anywhere carries the risk... NOT TRUE. Just go to a professional.
  10. I've heard it takes about 3 months for a tattoo to be completely healed. Also, lower leg tattoos take a lot longer to heal... so give it some more time then see how it looks.
  11. Oh, I'm definitely kidding haha I'm paranoid enough as it is about messing up my tattoos, I don't need to add insult to injury.
  12. Maybe I should test the healing powers of dog saliva?? Haha I'll report back, maybe start a new trend!
  13. IMO, there's nothing to be done about the tattoo sticking to clothing. However, I never have this problem after I let the tattoo completely dry out the first 24 hours and not let clothing touch it whenever possible. Obviously, this is impossible for some people, so I'm not sure how they manage or if there is a way. Perhaps re-wrapping the first few days? I know some people on here re-wrap overnight, but I've had some luck with lightly wrapping in bandages (not saran wrap) during the day if I had to go out and cover up.
  14. The more I've been reading up on ESO, it sounds like you can play the game solo, should you wish. I believe it can play like a basic RPG (just way more epic of course lol)
  15. HA precisely. I think people will start planning my funeral when that game hits...
  16. I am so fucked. The only week I can take off from work to adopt and spend time with a new puppy is the week right after my lower leg tattoo appt. This is going to be intense HAHA
  17. @growltiger so exciting!!! Are you getting peonies? Those are absolutely gorgeous. I've heard great things about Rodrigo.
  18. Welcome! Congrats on your first "significant" tattoo. Any pictures?

    Book thread

Afraid to say this while I appear to be in the company of Gaiman-lovers, but his books have never really knocked my socks off... I think he's a solid writer, but not prolific, which may be personal preference, but I rate that high on my literary needs. I enjoyed The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but I think it is a clear example of how his ideas are so creative, but not fleshed out enough. They always feel like hollow shells of stories after I finish them. Again, maybe it's just my personal taste. Then again... I have not read American Gods, which every one speaks so highly of.
  20. Infamous: Second Son is so much stupid fun! My husband is playing good and I'm playing eeeevil *muahaha* :) I have mixed feelings about Thief. I can't put my finger on what I dislike about it, but it's been collecting dust under my ps4 for a month now... Has anyone else tried it? - - - Updated - - - So true. I think seeing the whole story/world come full circle was worth it.
  21. @TrixieFaux, I believe it was @Tesseracts? But great idea for sure! @Pugilist I don't have any brand suggestions since I typically shop at Marshalls/TJMaxx (not sure if you have those stores in Canada), but I usually just look for really elastic ones and order like XL or XXXXXXL haha never buy them at places like American Apparel or Urban Outfitters, they tend to be to flimsy and lack the tightness to stay on. @SeeSea, I usually wear tops with straps after the first week or two, once its peeled significantly. If I have major scabs ...forget it. And the tanks I have the straps are super thin and sit very light on my shoulders. The important part is the torso of the tank is tight so it holds everything in a bit better than nothing. I have no idea what brand it is either lol ^see above. @Breakme for the record, I'm so freaking jealous of your work from Emily! Can't wait to see the new piece!
