  1. I don't believe everything I read on the internet. And I can't see into another man's heart. But these are racist images pure and simple: http://negativekarma.ru/wp-content/gallery/ch-b/tattoo-137.jpg http://negativekarma.ru/wp-content/gallery/ch-b/tattoo_034.jpg It's like pornography; you know it when you see it. So no, I would not get a tattoo from this man.
  2. Right on. Thanks for all the feedback!
  3. After two months, some of the thicker lines in my tattoo are still raised where the artist went over them multiple times. Not worried about it -- the tattoo still looks cool and has healed fine otherwise -- but I'm wondering if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this. I heard something about some other people's tattoos getting raised up in the summertime, but never really understood why that would be.
  4. Hey, we're not that young to get the Brando/Streetcar reference. That movie's a classic!
  5. I do think it's nutty to make the tattooers race against the clock like every other Top Chef-like reality show out there. Would they have a show called "America's Best Plastic Surgeon" and put a stopwatch on the guy doing a nose job? (Actually, I would watch that show, too.)
  6. I know there's a lot of hate out there for tattoo-related reality shows (and reality shows in general), but the wife and I quite enjoyed watching INK MASTERS and will no doubt tune in for Season Two. BEST INK is kinda lame in comparison -- mostly because of the terrible host they hired. They need to replace her with Margaret Cho -- or somebody who actually knows something about tattoos and isn't super-annoying.
  7. I don't get the text thing, but it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. Anybody who's considering getting a long quote -- I would direct them to this post which makes a pretty damn good case against. Most Honorable Blog: The Letter of the Law: Laws for Lettering and Tattoos
  8. It's not a competition, honey. (But I'm still gonna win.)
  9. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
  10. Get what you dig. But since you asked for advice... I think it's a cool idea -- but I would consider a less literal, more graphic design. For example: a cool alien/robot head with a flying saucer or a rocket ship and stars and planets all around. You could still do the text: "I Believe" in a banner in English or "alienese" or both. I'd be stoked to have this on my arm (without the "Futurama" logo):
  11. Spencer works in Los Angeles at Memoir Tattoo and possibly elsewhere -- and his work is incredible; I've seen it first-hand. JAMES SPENCER BRIGGS
  12. Hey, everybody. This is my second tattoo -- and my first real post. Here it is after all three sessions with the lovely and talented Kim Saigh at Memoir Tattoo in L.A. Figured I'd wait to finish it off as a half-sleeve after I pay down my credit cards. Curious to know what you guys think I should do other than "trust my artist" (which I do). Some ideas are: rocks and water (which may be kinda boring) or a dragonfly -- but I'm open to anything. What say you?

    Howdy

My wife TrixieFaux is on LST all the time and I figured this is a good way to spy on her -- I mean, participate in a meaningful discussion about tattoos with other enthusiasts. Anyway, after lurking for some time, she finally goaded me into joining, so here I am.
