Hey guys, haven't posted in a while but i had to bring this up.
 
Marcus Kuhn's Just Good Tattoos in Bath, England was basically burned to the ground a couple of nights back. Looks like it was deliberate and it's been hugely damaging to Marcus who is one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet.

"ITS been 24 hours since someone i dont know who or why.burned my tattoo shop down eleven days after i opened it...I put all my savings into it and frankly cannot afford to build it again..i have no insurance...was just in second week open..it would cost another 15 to 20 thousand to redo it and replace everything...as it stands now it was months i was not earning while building the shop and i put everything in there..i will not be able to eat or pay rent as my savings will be gone in a matter of days..this was a blow i dont think i can recover from...i built every corner of the shop with my own hands for three months using salvaged lumber and begged borrowed and scrounged all the pieces..all the money spent on planning applications and permits and blueprints and the trips to raise money to get it done and now its all gone and after 32 years tattooing and trying to contribute to the betterment of tattooing with gypsy gentleman films this is how i get repaid...I am tired of struggling to feed myself and duke and keep a roof over our heads..thank you to the people who have sent messages of solidarity..its very heartwarming but i cant live on good vibes alone..at the end of the day im alone broke and without recourse...dont know why someone would do this but whoever you are you suceeded in destroying the life of someone you dont even know personally..i hope you have a really good reason ..."
Please note i am not in charge of the gofundme and i do not know Marcus personally (i've met him and chatted tattoos for a bit but that's it).

Or find an artist you like who works in that style and trust him or her. A good experienced tattooer will know how to put something on you that stands the test of time. Which also means you have to listen to what they can and cannot do. Too many people end up with shit tattoos because they're stubborn or think they know better

They're not. Believe me, no one notices but you just like no one notices the "mistakes" on mine. I've seen a lot of shitty script tattoos and yours is not one of them. Besides didn't you say you fixed it up a bit?

Then let it be a lesson to you not to sweat the small stuff. Not trying to belittle your OCD or saying get over it. Just trying to turn a negative into a positive. Tattoos are imperfect because they're made by humans, not robots, and there's no eraser on the other end of the tattoo machine. That's part of the beauty of them. People aren't perfect either. Get more tattoos and you won't even think about it. Worked for me

On my elbow I did. Actually got it touched up and the same thing happened so I guess I just have to live with it. Could have been my fault for repeatedly bending my elbow but I wasn't about to wear a sling or anything

Recently got curious about something , for the artists who have a long waiting list has anybody even heard of someone asking the artist to do two tattoo's say a back piece and a full sleeve ?
that way you are not waiting twice for a couple of years ?
 
granted they are all individuals and might react differently, just wanted to ask for people's thoughts. 

Yes, I would hate to see people not visit this forum because of stupid shit people say. We're here to talk about getting good tattoos regardless or race, religion, sexual preference, blah blah blah. Everyone is welcome here besides trolls and spammers

Maybe I'm easily offended. But no, I don't like antisemitism or racism or homophobia or any of that shit. And yes, I'll call it out when I see it – even on the internet and especially this forum because I don't want to see it fucked up by a bunch of trolls. And before you start in about the "PC police" or "safe spaces" or any of that shit... It's called trying not to be asshole when you can avoid it. A good policy to live by I think.

5-9 hours depending on how good or Jewish your artist is and also depends on your pain threshold. Are you able to get tattoed for 8 hours str8 or will you take 2 sessions your artist can take his time prep and all that

At a glance I'd say Otherworld. I recommend going into the shop, looking at portfolios, and asking which artist is most into doing dot work.

Of those #2 but to be honest I'd hold out for a #3

As a newbie, and an over 60 one at that, I appreciate this. As I looked for my first tattoo, I wanted something that had meaning to me - did the same with my second, too - and ended up falling in love with a wolf head that had tribal lines associated with it. It spoke to me and what I wanted it to say for me - and had it done. This first picture posted on another web site got responses of "dated" "hello 90's" etc. I was initially taken back a bit...and then just let it roll off my back. What I get is about me - not anyone else.

It's a classic image. You might want to make sure that the head dress is authentic for whatever tribe. I'm not Native American but I doubt you'll offend too many people

Ugh, I finally had this experience. I liked his work, so I asked about a project. He said yeah yeah I do my own thing, send a deposit via PayPal.
Nope. I can't give up a full arm to somebody who can't listen to my ideas as well. Or at least give me an inkling of his ideas before I send money.

I love that tattoo. Wouldn't change a thing. Maybe live with it for awhile?
