  1. My son is 8 and he has never known his mommy without tattoos. When he was little he liked to take a paintbrush with water and pretend he was painting them on me. Then when he was 4 or 5 he was afraid to touch them. This past summer he walked up to so many people at the waterpark and asked to see their ink and talked to them about it. I am sure he will end up getting some in the future. He insists he wants to be a chef and is more interested currently in investing in cookbooks/cooking apps and trying new foods than talking about if and when he can get a tattoo. I would imagine when the time comes I will take him for his first one and pay for it. I want him to know what good work is and how to find a good artist.
  2. I'm going in a month or so to get the top of my shoulder tattooed. I've already started shopping for a racerback centered wardrobe I can rock for a bit. I haven't figured out the bra situation yet since my cup tends to run over in whatever I wear. I've enjoyed reading through this thread for advice from fellow women
  3. I haven't been on here in forever, but I'm finally about to get some new ink. I'm part of the Cincinnati Tattoo Project and can't wait to get my phrase done by One Shot tattoo. I should get my design next week sometime and then I will figure out placement.
  4. I put a higher spf on my tattoos and usually just a 15 or 20 on the rest of me. I like to have a little bit of a tan. I use one of the kids face sticks on my tattoos (its labeled so I know which one it is. Seem to work really well.
  5. I don't think I would even waste my time or money trying it. If it took needles to put the ink in, it should take more than a cream to get it out, unless the cream is burning off layers of skin or something, in which case I would imagine it would be seriously painful
  6. I don't really notice them to be honest. I work in a fishbowl, ok really it's a kitchen surrounded by glass so people can watch us deco cakes. I'm so used to people staring at what Im doing that I don't notice other times. My back piece was showing a bit today and I had a lady run up and ask if she could see the rest. My non tattooed family was freaking out, but I let her peek. I would feel more strange staring at someone than I would having someone stare at me
  7. No pics yet (it looks so gross healing). I'm getting the tattoo version of a painting that is very near and dear to my heart. It was the last thing my cousin painted before she passed away, its in no way perfect, and I love it because of that. I had to find an artist who was willing to include some of her technical mistakes. I will post pics once I get past the nasty scabbing pealing phase
  8. I just got the first session done on my back. I've been waiting a few years for this one, mainly because I wanted to save the $ to do it and find the right artist. Due to work and life it will probably be September or so before I can even think about going back for session 2.
  9. I used to cover up at work, I worked for a VERY conservative church as an office manager, I had to interact with food pantry/ clothing closet clients on a daily basis. We were told to dress nicely but not "superior". So things like jeans with no holes and a polo shirt were ok. No visible tattoos or piercings. Well the ac died in the building and it was 105 outside, so I wore a skirt and a nice shirt forgetting about the policy. I have my calf done as well as my foot. I showed up to work that day and so did the board. After seeing that my tattoos were not offensive, and they were actually a good talking point between myself and some of our regulars, they amended the policy. I realize this is the exception, I never in a million years would have thought they would amend the policy, in fact I was preparing to be fired. Now I work in a bakery, but don't deal with clients anymore, you can see my newly acquired back piece through my chef coat, but no one seems to care.
  10. Lol. Ironically enough on that flight I left my stun gun in my purse on accident and didn't realize it until long after we landed.
  11. I want one, but haven't figured out the what/where yet. I'm a pastry chef but I mostly design ad decorate cakes, but don't want a cupcake tattoo
  12. My tattoos tend to be covered when I travel, with the exception of the one on my foot, and I get all of the above at least once a trip, go figure. I travel a LOT for work, and have a pretty conservative travel outfit, but still I'm always getting stopped, my last trip tsa even kept my hairbrush I had in my carry on bag because they claimed it looked like a weapon.
