  1. The shop that has done my two pieces plays satellite radio. The first time it was 70's classic rock, the second was alternative. Both worked well for me. I did go to one shop while I was deciding on a shop that was pumping hip hop at high volume, and I have to admit that turned me off on the shop. Of course, none of the artists' portfolios at that shop moved me, or I would have overcome the tunage....
  2. My most recent is an image from a Black Crowes t-shirt.
  3. Just finished about an hour ago... Complete with progress pics: The Stencil Outline done: Black shading: Finished:
  4. I need more vacation time and cash before I think about travelling...but the day will come. I've recently seen work by Cecil Porter in California that makes me want to get some from him. Here in the Cincinnati area, I have Kore Flatmo, and I'd love to have work by him at some point too, which would probably happen before I travelled. I'm still new to all of this, so am researching and finding out more about the wide variety of artists and styles out there. In the meantime, the work I'm getting from Crow at a local shop called Beelistic is keeping me quite happy...
  5. Well, I've only chosen twice so far, but... The first one is a design I'd wanted for about 10 years, and has lots of meaning to me. It encompasses a variety of Pagan spiritual symbolism - I've explained it in my intro, and in the religious tattoos thread, so I don't want to get redundant. It's on the left side of my body. Moving forward, I'm using the left side for the "meaningful/spiritual" pieces. In many Pagan traditions, the weak side is the receptive side - so I'm using it for qualities I want to draw in. Since I'm right handed, the right side is my projetcing side. That's getting used for musical and whimsical tattoos - pretty much anything I like. Tomorrow I go in for tattoo number 2, which is going on my right arm. It's an image from a Black Crowes t-shirt I bought in the mid-90's, and have always thought it'd make a good tattoo - luckily, my artist agrees :D. Pictures will be posted when complete. Future choices? I have some ideas, for both sides...while more meaningful stuff is in the works for the left side, I also really want a Perry the Platypus on my right leg :).

    BEARDS!

I've been sporting the goatee/stache look for 18 years now, have only shaved it twice - in both cases, it was only gone for the time it took to grow back. I've let it spread into a full beard a couple times, but the goat fits me better. I needs to upload a better pic of me somewhere...right now this is the best I've got available...

    Hi there!

Hi Tammy, thanks for the welcome. I am influenced by a variety of Pagan traditions, so I designed this as a symbol to encompass several. The "Tree of Life" can be traced to Celtic, Norse, and Kabbalah, among others. The Ankh incorprates the Egyptian, as the symbol of eternal life. The Pentagram also comes from a variety of traditions, and can symbolize protection, health, and spirit as well. The tulip is for my late father, who loved tulips.
  8. I just posted this in my intro thread, but it seems fitting for this thread as well. I am influenced by a variety of Pagan traditions, so I designed this as a symbol to encompass several.
