  1. Just because someone says they're a Christian doesn't make them one. I can say that I'm the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, but that doesn't mean I am. If someone is a judgmental self-righteous asshole, it doesn't matter what they call themselves; what they really are is a judgmental self-righteous asshole.
  2. Do you guys get many asshole stares? I don't get hardly any at all. - - - Updated - - - So, which are you; sailor or prostitute?
  3. Shouldn't be a problem, I wouldn't imagine. Just make sure he or she knows that you want them both done so they can schedule accordingly.
  4. @posterboy7596 - Nope, I am Lutheran. We stayed at First Baptist Church in Williamson.
  5. I just got back two weeks ago from a service trip to West Virginia (I'm from North Dakota). My parish took a group of 8, and travelled with a group of 14, and spent a week working for and with the locals in Delbarton and Williamson, WV. It was most excellent.
  6. The two largest pieces on my arm, on my forearms actually, are Sailor Jerry flash. It's history. I eat that shit up.
  7. I've been really impressed with the acceptance/appreciation for my tattoos and my style from the people I minister to in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota; perhaps the most culturally conservative and buttoned-up area in the whole country.
  8. What job do you do that requires you to cover your tattoos? I'm always curious about this.
  9. Whatever choices you do make, don't look back. Good for you on your marketable skills! After 8 years of post high school education, i have exactly ONE skill. Kinda pigeonholed myself! haha.
  10. Best series I've ever seen. I think Walt is going to eventually burn this thing to the ground. The man's ruthless; seriously.
  11. Right, and the OP's question was about public perception. So I commented on what I feel the public perception is.
  12. From what i can gather, the racist piece is kind of by association. It is a classic prison tattoo, and prison tattoos are associated with prison gangs, and prison gangs are associated with racism.
  13. still jailhouse/racist but slowly making its way to classic tattoo design. The more people that get it, the faster the attitude toward it will change.
  14. I'm a pastor and I have several religious themed tattoos, so I guess that's work related. And I got this (color pending): for my dad, who is a Snap-on Tools dealer, so that's work related too.
  15. I feel like heavy people often decide specifically to not get big tattoos becuase they think it'll make their big parts look bigger. When in fact, the opposite is true, in my opinion. Don't go small. Go big. It'll be awesome.
  16. I got a fore-arm tattoo when I was 19 so I guess I'm not the picture of prudence. But as I work on a sleeve on the opposite arm now, nearly ten years later, it'll come to a stop about an inch above my wrist. So my watch doesn't cover up the ink:cool:
  17. I'm a pastor, so my tattoos get stares quite often. I'm a talker and my profession also demands that I be one, so typically when I see the stares I say hello and hope that a little dialog ensues. If the outcome is that their outlook on life broadens a bit; great. If they get super offended; I say a prayer that God show them the error in their judgmental ways and that they come to the realization that my tattoos are awesome.
  18. You guys aren't BFF's? Coulda fooled me! KIDDING! I think it looks good. Seems like this site is kind of biased toward American Traditional (as am I) so weigh the responses against that.
  19. My first tattoo was drawn by a friend. It's a Sacred Heart. Got it when I was 16; still my favorite. I honestly don't remember how i came to the decision on it. I was into iconography then, and I guess I still am.
  20. Looks great! Love the chain, too. The red interior is great.
