  1. Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro?
  2. on desktop/laptop hover over the username and " (X) Ignore User" will be an option that pops up.
  3. Finished my full back piece last Friday. I plan to write something about the experience but need time to collect and organize all my thoughts. by Mike Rubendall at Kings Ave:
  4. @Cork excellent tattoo and great summary of the experience!
  5. had a 3 hour session on Saturday and we are almost done, only 3-4 more hours of details remaining and maybe some touchup. will post pictures next month when it is 100% complete. also i fell really far behind on updating my blog...
  6. Is Henning going to be there? Or just starting the Grez and Rube parts at Pagoda and Henning will jump in later?
  7. pain combined with having to be very deliberate with your breathing is what makes ribs challenging. Similar to the back there is a wide range of pain. Some parts are "easy" others are terrible.
  8. Welcome! let us know where you are located or where you are willing to travel for a tattoo and we can recommend some artists.
  9. After doing a couple 5.5-6.5 hour sessions on my back and front this year I 100% agree that 4 hours is the perfect session length. Those longer session become a mental struggle. The pain doesn't necessarily get worse in hour 5, 6, or 7 it just gets really boring and difficult to let my mind drift off into a happy place. @sophistre my advice is to never go into a session too confident. Tell yourself the pain is going to be 11 out of 10 so when it ends up being 8.5 out of 10 it ends up being much more manageable than the horrors you were imagining. And on the flip side, when you end up having an easy session delete it from your memory because it will set your pain expectations too low for the next session.

    Problem

vaseline isn't really recommended for aftercare. with out seeing a picture i would guess it scabbed heavy and needs time to heal.
  11. it isn't as easy and convenient as going to a local artist but it is well worth the effort.
  12. Where are you located? A shop/artist recommendation is the best advice we can give you, then you can sit down with a professional and go over your options.
  13. If a tattoo needs to be "touched-up" every 5 years it is probably not a good tattoo.
  14. Awesome! I'm scheduled to be there on April 2nd also.
  15. 3.5 more hours of progress last week. total is about 51 hours so far and i'm guessing we have 20-25 more hours until we are finished. Legs and ass are 99% complete. Waiting until it is finished before sharing anymore full back pictures but here is a close up on my ass/leg/lower back area: - - - Updated - - - Also I just realized that over the past 12 months I've been tattooed a total of 63 hours (51 on my back and 12 on my front). plus ~100 hours of driving back and forth from Boston to Long Island x10, Boston to Manhattan x1, Boston to Montreal x1, and Boston to Reading PA x1.
  16. you can see the back of this arm in some of my backpiece progress pics either here on the backpiece tread or on my blog.
  17. I'm in a similar mental state with my back piece progress. It is a grind. Can't wait for mine to be finished. You won't be seeing any "sad to be at the end of this journey" posts from me.
  18. 100% respectfully disagree. re-wrapping has been the only method that has consistently worked for me.
  19. part of me wants a wedding band tattoo because i don't really want to deal with the responsibility of owning an actual ring. it would just be a single black line. but i imagine there will be situations (like at work maybe) where people see it and they might use it as a jumping off point to share their opinions about tattoos that i don't really care about.
  20. @Cork I'm Boston folk. Yankees suck! But I am scheduled to be at the Massapequa shop the first weekend of April.
  21. Redemption Tattoo in Cambridge MA.
  22. did you witness the really fun parts when i covered my face with my shirt?
  23. I saw you but I was physically and mentally incapable of saying hi or waving while Henning was tattooing my ribs.
