  1. Wow. I have some guesses who this is by but would rather you tell us!!! Congrats!
  2. Hey ... Miguel Olascuaga, Live Free Tattoo in ATL
  3. Meh ... We don't talk prices here. Sounds like you dont want much. Just remember that there's usually a shop minimum flat price that covers an hour (usually?).
  4. Before my fifth tattoo, I felt like I had to really want the image for at least a year and that the tattoo had to have significant meaning to me. That worked for the first ten years after my 18th birthday tattoo. Oh, how that has changed ... My first real spontaneous tattoo was when I took advantage of a cancellation one of my artists had while I was driving home from work. I came home that night with a gorgeous Rose of No Mans Land and she's one of my most favorite tattoos. Now I like booking in with an artist and coming up with the imagery with them once I arrive. I'll be doing that tomorrow. Granted what I'm going for is mostly traditional tattoos and I want to make have a lot of those iconic images in my collection.
  5. @vPooch Listen to your body. First few days will be swelling, then the flaking/scabbing. If your forearm gets a lot of play in lacrosse, you'll just want to make sure it's covered up for safety and hygiene until its healed.
  6. Visiting friends and family in Atlanta this coming weekend. Just booked in myself and my BFF for Friday with @Miguel Olascuaga at Live Free Tattoo. Still haven't narrowed down the content, but I love his work. (Sorry for originally posting this in the Lowdown ... and then not being able to figure out how to delete it!!!)
  7. crap how the hell do you delete a post. (wrong area)
  8. That's crazy sauce and super interesting.
  9. What great additions to your collection! I don't know how you suffered through all that in one weekend. You all are beasts!!! Congrats.
  10. Sounds like you're doing the right thing and going to get your artist's advice. I've had heat on most of my tattoos for four to five days following the session, and all different levels of scanning. But the growing redness around the area does seem like something you may want to go to the doctor for. So what if they give you the whole crap about not agreeing with tattoos ... You can tune that out and just take their advice about healing. Good luck
  11. @slayer9019 Sorry I didn't look back a year in posts! I did, however look at the board and scroll to see if it was mentioned recently ...
  12. Got fresh ink on Saturday and the blues are setting in on Tuesday night. The skin isn't even flaking yet! So glad most places don't take credit cards, otherwise I'd be in more trouble.
  13. Awesome! Be careful driving. I'm sure the excitement will keep those eyelids open.
  14. Official Description: For years people saw tattoos as a sign of rebellion. A middle finger salute to the rest of the world. Outlaw bikers got tattoos. Sailors on leave in Singapore got tattoos. Lifers in the joint got tattoos. But now in the United States one out of every three adults under forty has a tattoo! So what happened? How did tattoo go from something… Plot Outline: The true story of the revolutionary tattoo style of Black and Grey in LA. Featuring: Jack Rudy, Freddy Negretr, Charlie Cartwright and more http://tattoonation.com/ Anyone going to see this? Screenings taking place next Thursday through Sunday it looks like. I have tickets for next Friday in Miami.

  16. @JeffK and here is the regular version, photo of Mike Fite's business card:
  17. I was talking to Mike Fite who did a variation of this on me yesterday ... He said it was an early turn of the century design ... Possibly as early as 1890, but definitely lots in the 1910-20's. Here is mine I got from him:
  18. Just picked this up from Mike Fite on the thigh. Stoked. Now, driving 150 miles back home.
