  1. Looking at the specs compared to their other stuff - it has "moisturizing" additives. Biggest thing is that you keep re-applying it.
  2. Just saw this stuff: Coppertone SPORT® Lip Balm SPF 30 Sunscreen Anyone have real-world experience? Thoughts?
  3. Who went, who got new ink and who brought some new art home?
  4. This thread is only about my personal experiences with tattoo removal and the only ones I'm removing are black and grey. I'll shoot you a PM though.
  5. I haven't been, will be heading up Friday to take some photos of my buddy's booth and hang out w/ them for a while. Shoot me a PM if you'll be there Friday.
  6. Another update. I'm having almost daily mobile substrate crashes on my AT&T iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1. It just reboots, tells me it's in safe mode and I can reboot again and it's fixed. About once every 10 days to 2 weeks it gets stuck at the Apple logo for 20-30 minutes then comes back up. All my apps are updated and everything in Cydia is updated. Just frustrated to the point I may just restore the phone to un-jailbreak status and keep using it the way I'm "supposed" to
  7. This is the back of my calf (same leg getting done as other photos, different tattoo artist), done in 1997. Scheduling conflicts with my business partner have prevented me from getting a second one but we're trying to sync up this weekend.
  8. @Other - Based on the progress I'm personally seeing as a client, and someone who works in this industry, I can say that any negative impact it may have is extremely small when compared to the comfort level that ice brings prior to, and during [larger pieces] for the person on the receiving end.
  9. @Napalm Pancakes - everyone has a different idea of pain and what it feels like, and some people in the business like the numbing creams, some use injections to help with the pain and others just put ice packs on the skin prior to treatment. Some clients have said taking 1 Tylenol or Aleve an hour prior to treatment also helps - personally I think that's more a placebo thing. Pain wise, I typically sit through about 13 minutes for all 3 of my tattoos and after the first 90 seconds or so my body just starts to deal with the pain and mentally I can begin coping with it. It's not a horrible feeling (I've also had spinal surgery) and it's not something I really enjoy, but within 20-30 minutes of it being over, I'm virtually pain free again.
  10. I personally don't use them on my clients or have it used on me because, even fully absorbed into the skin, it's a barrier between the pigment and the laser (light). It opens up the possibility for the light to be reflected or refracted, and the laser to not be as efficient. We currently ice (cold packs) for 10-15 minutes before treatment.
  11. Man gets Netflix tattoo, scores free year of Netflix | Crave - CNET
  12. Everyone is different, most people use the same "style" of laser for removal too @aleksksks - but it can happen. Same with people who have lots of freckles. Sometimes ya just lose a few.
  13. Yes, for most people. The "after" photo here, hard to see but there is hair there, but my legs aren't overly hairy to start with, but it did come back. The way lasers are setup for tattoos, they will do hair removal but it's extremely inefficient at it. If your brother shaved for every treatment, it should have come back within a few days / week, but not knowing who / how he's being treated I can't speculate what's going on.
  14. Finally got an updated photo together - this is after two treatments: My business partner has been extremely busy with 5 month old twins so our schedules never seem to sync up, I'm hoping to get a 3rd treatment this weekend.
  15. Looks great! and @Wraith is on-point, 3mm would take forever for a whole arm / the body just can't take that much heat & dehydration too, it's best to split it into smaller sections. Great progress though!
  16. Friend of mine has the Cryo - I like everything about it, except the weight. I am tempted to get one of the more limited all black versions though! haha
  17. @Ducky15568 - thank your Pops for me for serving his country, and protecting our Highways. ]I hope your friend is OK!
  18. I've actually been waiting for a 3rd treatment, my business partner has two 5 month olds at home (twins) so the time when we are both in the office at the same time anymore is super limited. I am long over due for an updated photo though, I'll see if can take one and do the comparison, there's been even more fading.
  19. I mean zero disrespect to your Pops, but if he disliked the fact that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, would you too dislike that? Again, I don't mean to start a forum war here, but when you say these things, it just sounds silly. I'm willing to bet a crisp dollar bill that your Pops and everyone he worked with for all 30 of those years on the Highway Patrol never shot more rounds while on duty than is held in one standard 1911 magazine. 9mm is ammo, you don't shoot it, it a projectile that leaves a weapon you're firing. There's a reason so many people opt to get a .22 conversion for their 9, .40 or .45 pistol, or buy the .22 equivalent to it such as a Walther p22, or even a Ruger Mark II/45. They do it because they want to be proficient with muscle memory and trigger feel, without the wrist-snapping that is commonly associated with shooting 2-300 rounds at a time out of the larger calibers. If the weapon you choose to carry is comfortable, you can draw and accurately fire, and then reholster it safely, then it's the right gun for you. For me personally, I have yet to find a weapon larger than 9mm that I can carry year round IWB without printing that I can consistently draw from. The 9mm I did own was a Kel-Tec P11, perhaps one of the most poorly manufactured guns I've ever owned and I'm glad I no longer own it. Again, you pick the round that's accurate for your ultimate goals and that you are most comfortable with. This fight has happened hundreds of times on the web, there is countless ballistics tests and scientific info that you can find an accurate answer about penetrating size, depth, muzzle velocity, and so on. As I said earlier, the best camera is the one you have with you.
  20. Not to start a forum war, but I seriously do NOT get why people say things like this. When I sold my Glock 27 (.40) and bought a Ruger LCP (.380) one of my friends made the lame-o comment along the lines of that's stupid, that's not a defensive round and it won't do anything! Really? Stand in front of my gun as I pull the trigger, you tell me. I'm a photographer, there is an old saying the best camera is the one you have with you and this translates to carry weapons and self defense rounds. The only difference between a .22LR round and an AR-15 .223 round is .003 and more gun powder, the hole is virtually the same. I enjoy the sport of shooting, hence the reason I bought a S&W AR-15-22. At the time 500 or 555 rounds cost $20-22 at Wal-Mart. I can shoot all day, my shoulder doesn't hurts and in the end, we're just putting holes in paper. Last box of 50 target rounds I bought in .380 was $20, I can shoot twice as many with my CCW weapon for the same amount as those who prefer to carry .45. It's not all about saving $$, it's about having fun for me and also being as efficient and comfortable with a draw of a CCW as possible, based off muscle memory. If I can get there twice as fast for half as much money, I will. To each their own. The reason anyone buys any one particular caliber over another, for personal or home defense, hunting, plinking, target shooting for the sport of it or compensating for other lacking areas of their life is on them. To say one caliber is junk over another is kind of an ignorant thing though.
  21. When will the ammo shortage end? Seriously sick of this crap. When cheaperthandirt.com is sold out of 98% of their .22LR ammo, things are in dire situations.
  22. Just an update - there was a slew of changes via Cydia, including Winterboard and Mobile Substrate that fixed the problem of notifications not showing up on HTML based lock screens. That said, I'm still having problems with the Mobile Substrate crashing at least once a day, the phone just goes into safe mode and you just tap the top and it resprings everything. It's just an inconvenience. I'm still running 6.1 and won't be upgrading, hopefully they can work out a few of these last bugs. Did a little more tweaking to clean things up and also changed my WiFi notification recently. This is now my home screen: Wallpaper is a mashup of stuff from Good Fucking Design Advice that I just threw together in Photoshop quickly, to remind myself of some stuff daily.
  23. Picked up a used Ruger Mark II Target in stainless with slab sides and a red dot. Still need to break it down, clean it and go to the range, as soon as I can find reasonable .22lr ammo. Walmart has been sold out forever and the local gun shows are charging a 100% premium on the stuff. Eff that.
