I think the " courtesy margin " works well with "traditional" style tattoos --- but when someone comes to me wanting to tie there existing tattoos together into a cohesive sleeve--- I will often work right up to the existing tattoos.

Next time I'll say " sure, my son is just starting, and he could use the practice!"

I should be used to this by now... But I'm obviously not.

So a prospective customer came into the shop today ( she has been in before looking at portfolios, consultation etc.)

Now she wants to begin her sleeve and wants to know if we would be interested in trading because she is currently in training for( insert whichever : esthetician, hairdressing, massage therapy etc. )

Really? So you think that would be equitable if I after years of tattooing would trade with you who have not even completed your training?

Just be polite, if it's not a family member or close friend.

Do you think I'm fat? Do you like this hat? What's there to gain by being truthful? If they asked your opinion prior to getting the tattoo , that's another story.

Benadryl or some other over the counter med might help if you're going crazy.

My new tattoo was very itchy and it's been 2 weeks.

Definitely worse at night, when I am tired.

I really loved Christian Bale in "The Fighter" and I recently saw "The Help" and really liked it.

i was made to watch it cos my friend LOVED it and i absolutely hated it, the main reason was the main lead, hellen paige or something like that. she spoils every film she does, cant stand her style of precocious acting.

I meant that Freddie socialized annually w Terry annually at the convention--- and it was through him that I met - Terry.

When I was a young woman - a man i worked for, Fast Freddie Fahs- who "socialized " with Terry Wrigley, annually at the National Tattoo Convention.

I had the pleasure of dining with Terry, along with i think his wife, Bob Shaw and The Funks.

Even in my heyday I was 20lbs overweight- and since the camera adds 20lbs , people were never rushing to take my photo- and when they did ask I always found it a little embarrassing and said "no"!

Funny I remember feeling a little left out when Bill DeMichelle photographed my friend ( another female tattooist) in my presence and didn't ask me.

Now I look back and think, " THANK GOD" !
