  1. My side (ribs) was baaaad but I only got a small piece there so it was short. Lots of involuntary shudders due to nerves. For actual pain the back of my calf has been the worst so far... it was a much longer session and the artist was heavy handed.

The knee seems like it will be pretty awful... it's coming up soon :-/

  2. I don't research every company I patronize... but if I do hear something about a company that I disagree with (in a big way), I research to make sure that's true and, if it is, I no longer patronize that company. If my company was shady, I would definitely look for other work... not only because I disagreed but shady companies seem like they could easily fail and leave me high and dry!

  3. Hi all. I am slowly finding my away around this little space on the inet you've carved out.

I am Tiffany, a 32 year old insurance analyst living in Tampa, FL. I am originally from the burbs of Cleveland Ohio... went to college in BFE PA, then grad school in Atlanta, GA (Go yellowjackets!). After a short stint in Missouri, I moved back to Ohio for a few years and now I am down in the sunny south. I've been here for over 4 years now and don't plan to leave anytime soon. My husband and I adopted a (slightly) deranged dog this past year and are looking into buying a house when our lease is up (sadly, not for awhile).

In my free time I like to knit/crochet (I am awesome at it), visit theme parks (big Disneyphile), and go to my 2 fave local bars/eating spots (where we spend way too much money and know too many of the people). We also love travel and take way too many cruises (leaving this Saturday, in fact, on our 10th Disney cruise)! Weird combination, probably.

I got my first tattoo on my 25th bday... my stepfather bought it as my gift (noone should pay for their first!). I got a couple more within a year or so... all small... and then got busy and didn't get anymore until last October. Now I have several more with ones definitely planned. I just like the art of it... also, my skin is very pale and shows veins and imperfections really well so I like to cover that up.

  4. It is, I find myself staring at it all the time. She has a few more hours of color to go. I posted it on the Oct. tattoo of the month thread if you'd like to check it out.

I will try to find it!

My husband has several and is now working on a Nightmare Before Christmas sleeve. :)

I saw it! Very pretty... looks like she still has some color to go? What does the banner say?

That was a BIG tattoo she got there... :)

  5. Kore's wife did a floral and butterfly piece that goes from her knee to her calf. It's a rose, tulip, daffodil, and two butterflies. It's on the site somewhere.

Sounds pretty :) I love those pieces that are composed ahead of time

  6. Yep, same drive. I traveled to have it done by Kore Flatmo. It was a great experience, and I plan on having him do my future work too,

I love the ideas you have, personally I would say stick with color. Everything is nice and bright and really flows together. You got to keep that going IMO.

Thanks! Yeah, I might... I do like the color. Will probably do a greyscale background to make it pop. I have 2 others I am planning too - LOL. I am going to be busy for awhile!

I keep telling my husband I am going to get a joy buzzer tattoo'ed on my palm to add a little fun to life but he says NO! ;)

  7. He's thinking another 3 1/2-4 hours. I did pretty well for the first 3 1/2 hours, but it got pretty uncomfortable past that point. It didn't help that I slept about a hour and a half the night before. It's my first tattoo, and I was so nervous I really psyched myself out. Throw a 3 1/2 hour drive on top of that and I was not in the best frame of mind at the time.

When are you starting your next piece? Any ideas yet in the subject?

Wow far drive!! Will you be making that again to go see him? Did you make that travel to see a specific artist? Definitely get more sleep next time! I always get super nervous right before but as soon as the first line starts I'm better. Major butterflies. I made headway last time and when my artist asked if I was ready I said "yes" instead of "no"... lol

I am going on vacation in 9 days so I am healing up now. Then when I get back I am going to pop in and try to schedule something about a week out. I have a small space left on my leg (above the pineapple) that I want to fill with a tiki. I am also planning on putting some rope around my ankle with an anchor on my foot to cover some scars (that are still healing) and also to kind of define the end of the work.

After that I am going to start above the knee but not sure if I want to keep it similar or maybe flip it and go back and grey with the knee as a transition, But I am thinking of hear/speak/see no evil skulls... sugar skulls if I stay with color. I am not set on that idea yet tho.

  8. I am going to be getting a tiki to fill the empty spot on my calf. I don't have it planned out too much yet - my thought is to let my artist decide how it should be since he has a specific space to work with. Then I need to decide what I want above my knee...

  9. A little over 4 hours. I can't wait until its done. The next few weeks are going to seem like an eternity.

Can't wait to see it finished! :) Do you know approx how long it will take to shade?? It's funny... some of my pieces I wanted to sit there longer (it was a fun night in the shop and wasn't very painful) and others I couldn't wait til they were done... but I've not done over 3 hours yet.

  10. Thanks, I go back on three weeks to finish the shading and start color. I'm already thinking about what to do on the other side to balance me out.

Ohhh that's the exciting part! So how long did you sit for that?

  11. I forgot the paisley stuff. I don't think I've ever seen paisley as a tattoo before. Very cool. All of your work is really fun and light hearted. Even though there might be little things you don't love, it all goes together very well.

Thank you! Yeah my tattoo artist said he had definitely never seen Paisley in color before (he originally thought when I said color I meant the outline)... it was really fun filling that in together. I used a henna type pattern as a guide and we inverted some of the darks with lights. I know not every line is perfectly straight... but I am ok with that as tattoo'ing is a hand drawn artform and not like screenprinting.

hah - yup lighthearted... I'm a girl, after all. I do love looking at the other styles and the bad@$$ skulls and horror pieces... but I definitely couldn't pull it off (and wouldn't want to try).

I like the dragon you have... is it done or are you filling it in?

I am planning on a half+ sleeve when I finish my leg... but one that is all one piece.
