  1. Welcome Mara! I'm kind of in the same boat, haha, so hopefully we can both find useful tips! :)
  2. Brock - Not from Spamland - I live in a town close to Edmonton. The tattooer that did my first, and current, tattoo is a local named Steve Cunningham. I've been looking at different artists though, in Edmonton mainly. A place called Dragon FX seems to be a popular place but its a bit of a pain being just under 2 hours away. Rocket - Thank you for the welcome! How many tattoos do you have/where/what? haha
  3. Oops! That was a mistake. I meant to link to my tattoo, then I saw where I can insert from my gallery...forgot to remove the attachment. I obviously attached the wrong thing x.X
  4. Hello all! I'm new here! I'm from Canada (where it is currently freezing cold...). I stumbled across LST while looking for some tips on future tattoos and decided to join! I was bitten by the tattoo bug recently, July 2012 when I got my first piece done. Its a collaboration of things that represent my son (first born). I have a strong fear of needles and pain, but it really wasn't that bad and now I already have ideas for my next 3 tattoos. Like a mentioned, my first tattoo represents my son. He was born at night, during the year of the rabbit, his birthstone is 'ruby' (the 'red' in the flower) and my personal favorite flower is the Lotus. July's birth flower is the water lily I was very nervous but my tattooer made me very comfortable, to the point where his assistant thought i had fallen asleep. The most painful was the flower, which was the last part. He let me get up just before that to see it so far and use the bathroom, it made me very happy and helped me get through that last little bit (and want more lol) - he originally quoted me on 5-6 hours because of the van gogh sky but it was completed in 3 hours. I'll be going back to him to get my next few done! The next 3 tattoos I would like are: on the inside of my arms, just below the wrist, on one side a red-breasted robin with flowers around it flying. On the other a cage with an open door and dead flowers around it. One of my favorite quotes has always been 'A red-breasted robin in a cage puts all Heaven in a rage' and to me, I feel this tattoo would represent it The next is an infinity symbol on the back of my neck with the words 'Ohana means Family and Family means no one gets left behind' in the loop. Lastly, just below that is two hummingbirds back to back with long winding tails that entwine in the leaves of a lotus. With symbols for 'Love, Family, Harmony' between the birds, and my last name Shea just below that.
