  1. I really like this, nicely done. Definitely something on my long list of "upcoming tattoos." Myself, I go back and forth between full color or not with ship tattoos but I like the use of blacks and reds in this particular tattoo.
  2. Welcome to the forum @fourtotheflush. What style are you looking for? Around Boston the first shop that comes to mind is Redemption Tattoo. They've got a strong lineup of artists there. I really like Erick Lynch but Mike Shea is good and Chris Marchetto just came on board, too. Redemption Tattoo Inc.
  3. @ProvidenceTattoo...just thought I'd chime in and say welcome and I'm a big fan of your work. I look forward to seeing more pictures and posts from you.
  4. Beautiful piece. I'm from CT and am a fan of your work, Dennis.
  5. It seems like this has serious potential, I really look forward to seeing this one progress. For me, I'm still trying to decide the best way/place to do a flintlock type pistol. Good luck.
  6. I haven't been but here's something from Murray Sell's blog about his opinion of the 2011 convention... Had an awesome time seeing all my friends this year.Stayed fairly busy too. Didn't have a good time dealing with 800 tattooers in 500 booths. Seem like the bigger these things get, the shittier they become. 45 minute lines, being searched like common criminals, getting hastled by security over pocket knives and tattooing under cameras is pretty fucking LAME .Bummer. In my opinion the shariton Hotel was a FAR better establishment to hold a convention in.Biker gangs and all. I Dont know if I'll return next year.Might just tattoo at Olde City tattoo instead. -Murray Posted by Murray Sell New Britain Connecticut at 4:23 PM
  7. Another good line, one I've used many times but I forget where it came from. I did catch the (I believe) Cheech and Chong Sister Mary Elephant (claaass, claaass, shut up!) reference in another thread too. Good stuff.
  8. Absolutely bad ass tattoo, @phickey. Congrats.
  9. Amazon.com: SOG Specialty Knives & Tools 1/2 Serrated Tiger Stripe TF-3 Trident: Home Improvement
  10. -SOG Trident knife -Winter gloves -Car cleaning kit -Pure Shea butter -Tattoo flash calendar -food
  11. I just got this today for Christmas, it's my first carry knife. So far I like it although I'll probably get a mini-griptillian with a straight blade to add to this one. Sorry for big pictures:
  12. @Russ...all I can say is wow. Congrats to you and to Valerie for executing such a flawless tattoo.
  13. Me too. Most of my reds have healed more slowly than other parts. Be patient and don't put too much crap on it.
  14. I was sort of rooting for Tefft the whole show since he's from my home state of CT, even though at times he came across as an arrogant dick...editing.
  15. That's a pretty funny coincidence. I'm proud of my lady head Ron did last year at Three Kings.
  16. I don't know, honestly for that style I think the guy is pretty solid overall. Obviously the talent pool in and around NY is huge but there doesn't seem to be a lot of artists doing black and grey realism, if that's the style wanted. I'm sure there's some better choices but I don't think he'll get a bad tattoo by the Victor guy.
  17. Seems to be similar problem with me, too. I've got some tattoo ideas ready to go but placement is driving me nuts, what I want to put where, etc. I tend to over think things, though. This could go in the workplace thread too, because I work with kids so I'm a little careful as to what might be visible.
  18. Although I don't have a ship tattoo (yet), it's definitely in the future plans. I go back and forth between preferring black and grey or color with the ship tattoos, I've seen some great examples of both. I kind of like the black and grey stormy ship scenes which probably aren't true traditional.
  19. I doubt I could participate in a meet-up but I'll be in NYC at the end of the month since my girlfriend talked me into taking her to the Rockettes show at Radio City. I'd rather go to a bar for drinks instead any day.
  20. Any chance you can provide a link to his work, I couldn't find his name at Good Faith yet. Thanks
  21. Welcome to the forum, I've seen you around another tattoo forum. Enjoy your stay here.
  22. Yup, and welcome. I recognize the name from another tattoo forum.
