  1. If you are on the fence about going, you should probably pack a bag and go. Its a great convention and Montreal is one of North America's great cities. We will be going, if our September work schedule allows.
  2. Thank you. It all took a brutal toll, but my elderly mother came through her 7 hour open heart surgery like a champ and is back at home, and getting back to normal.
  3. Great Bowler hat on that monkey, @oboogie . Nothing like a good hat on an animal:
  4. That sounds like an ideal day. Nice.
  5. I love the heat and humidity. Nothing suits me more than hiking up and down city streets in 90 degree weather. I like A/C at home, but can live without it. I'm also sympathetic to everyone who doesn't like it, and as @oboogie pointed out it can be very dangerous for some. On the hottest days we used to check in on our elderly friends and relatives. @Graeme is right too about the coldest days up here. There are only a few that are truly brutal, and if you are well-dressed for it, it can be quite a nice experience.
  6. I popped into a shop on a whim a couple of weeks ago and got a ghost tattoo. It looks like a cross between an onion and a squid. My wife says it looks like a ghost.
  7. Making an appointment for me and my wife with Mario Desa when he passes through town in the fall. Very excited!
  8. I'd love to collect watches. Way too pricey for me, though. Instead, I've been collecting fountain pens (new and antique) for the last few years. I must have a thing for sharp instruments and ink.
  9. I've got lots of repeats. Skulls, animals, roses, lady heads, and probably more. Hard to keep track. I think repetition done well looks great.
  10. I walked into a shop the other day to scratch that itch and when the tattooer saw my legs he said, "Oh - you're a collector." We then spent 30 minutes talking about the various tattoos and where I got them. It was supposed to be a quick in-and-out, but I ended up sticking around and talking for a while. I've been busy with other things over the last year, so it was nice to get back into it all again. Yup. Collector.
  11. I used to cover up at work, but I recently just said fuck it. Literally no one cared. lol.
  12. Lost my dad a few weeks ago. Now my 82 year old mom is heading for major open-heart surgery in 3 weeks. Gonna be another rough few months ahead for me and my family.
  13. Working on "The Division," right now. Pretty good so far, and the multiplayer system has been largely working for me. I recommend it - especially if you enjoyed games like Destiny.
  14. Heh, lots of us 45 year old types around here. I was on a tear for a few years and was getting tattooed every two weeks for months on end. I've stepped back a bit and I've only had 4-5 in 2015 and only 2 so far in 2016. I expect I'll do a few more this year, and hopefully I'll be back at the Montreal convention this year.

    Dad Memorial

    Tim Pausinger
  16. Got this little memorial for my father from Tim Pausinger at The Pearl in Toronto on Monday. Its been a long long journey.
  17. @polliwog Thanks! I really don't know if it fits a particular asian style, but I was immediately drawn to her work. I suspect I'll be posting more of hers in the coming weeks and months.
  18. Just had a new tattoo added to my right leg by Tammy Kim at The Okey Doke in Toronto. She is amazing.
  19. Booked in with Tammy Kim and with Franz Stefanik at the Okey Doke in Toronto. I'll also have a few walk-ins at The Pearl in January and February. Still working on the squidpants.
  20. Hi Ash, Welcome aboard. I think you'll find that many of us have multiple versions of subjects. I have a few different roses, a couple of matching swallows, several stars, a few skulls, and probably more that I've forgotten. A friend of mine has a sleeve of different hawks. Some good advice: work on it with a good artist - placement is going to matter when you start getting multiples. Have fun - I wish I could go back and start again, not because I regret anything I've done, it's just that the process was so great.
