  1. Loving his art. It's so unique. Usually a lot of shops I come across do the same kinda shit all the time.
  2. Yea it seems like everyone's first post on this site doesn't show up. Even when I first came here. But anyway welcome!!!
  3. Calling a tattoo an accessory is blasphemy. It's so much more than that.
  4. I don't want to speak for this person. But I do believe there are many gray areas. There are so many reasons why artists might 'copy' or replicate..You can have all the opinions that you want. But you also never really know why the artist chose to do it. Most people get wrapped into 'right and wrong' in life and don't realize there's more to it than what we assume... I started off by thinking it was wrong, but discussions like this made me realize...if a client came to me and wanted a piece from an artist I look up to. I would love to do it just because in a way you feel part of the artist & their work. But of course in no way I would claim it as my own...
  5. Personally I would go for the noble wolf. Since it represents the fight, and empowerment in which we strive for everyday... Flowers, leaves etc. are a little too traditional for 'femininity'. But that's my take on that particular symbolism. Of course in the end it's what you would love to look at everyday and what will motivate you!
  6. You guys have some amazing pieces. But just for fun I wanted to enter. June is my month and this was my first tattoo years ago. Still my favourite one :) Jessica Pare - Eastside Tattoos
  7. Take it one day at a time.., I know how it is.. It's hard when things are not the greatest financially. You don't exactly feel like being social when you feel like shit about your situation. But it does help to network. I think here is a good start. This forum helped me out. :) Wishing you the best, and welcome!
  8. This is in Vancouver, and been definitely wanting a piece by Katia. All she does is dot work and it's absolutely beautiful. Rainfire Tattoo - Rainfire Tattoo Studio - Vancouver
  9. And did I read that right, when the artist said Bieber will realize one day he has bad tattoos? Is he for real, putting shit on his body and not telling him it's all bad ideas... The article is so badly written...
  10. I was just kidding anyway... You would look pretty ridiculous. :P
  11. Flip up your collar. Ghetto Italian style.
  12. On the 6th, I'm getting a corset style tattoo on the back of my arm. (Tricep) As if the ribbon is passing through my skin. Without the bow... fuckin hate bows.
  13. That's so awesome! I want very close people in my life to tattoo small ones on me. I love when people get involved artistically. Such a big part of life.
  14. What about when people get Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger tattoos and all that.. Would that be considered a form of plagiarism as well?
  15. I think it's straight up plagiarism for sure. The only time I guuuueeess it's "ok" is if the client is dead set on wanting it... Even then if I were a tattoo artist I would try everything to convince them to go a more original route.. What kind of respect do they even have for themselves as artists if they do things this way...
  16. Well then that changes everything. I expected it to be worse than that. I thought they would have wanted it in a visible place at most.
  17. I thought Season 2 was brutal to watch at times... The kind of 'characters' they got this time around was awkward to watch. Especially having a name like "tatu baby". It hurts to even write it...
  18. I'm assuming it has to be visible? I wasn't able to watch the video cause it's only in the states. I wouldn't do it. Fuck that.
  19. That's a wonderful idea actually. He does want one day, it's just not a priority like it is for me. hehe I'm dragging him to the convention with a bunch of friends on Sunday. Let's hope he'll be inspired. He has the perfect skin for tattooing, it's a shame if he never gets anything ;)
  20. Maybe some of you can give me some pointers on getting some ink on my man then. hehe Not that I mind at all. If anything it's really fun when people meet him expecting some punk rocker that's covered, and they get a normal balanced individual. It would just be a bonus. :)
  21. Absolutely! First thing I said was "I love my arm better this way". There were a lot of burn scars on there as well from kitchen jobs. I was finally so excited to cover that crap up with positive symbols. I feel more confident but at times the bad looks kinda get to me. Or having to explain to the extended family members *why* I got these designs...which is why I'm keeping the darker art pieces on non-visible areas. Compliments are always appreciated. Makes me feel like I have great taste when it comes to art. :)
  22. This is an album cover I designed for my friend's band. Was fun to do.
  23. Las portadas de Giger @ MondoGonzo Just found the image on a random site. Photobucket is giving me problems. Anyway getting it done this week by my mentor. Excluding the guitar and her hand. Just the face and hair. Always wanted one of Giger's pieces. :)
  24. I'm definitely good to go. Booked my day off. Going the last day cause we figured the artists won't be as busy? Either way, super stoked. :)
