  1. Wondering what sort of snake plans @Timbur and @TrixieFaux will go for. We had a variety of snakes for a while: ball pythons, corn snakes, cal king. The carpet python we had for a while was pretty cool. Pic I found online: - - - Updated - - - You like Speyside, Highland or Islay scotch? I like them all but family from Islay explains why I prefer it...
  2. Awesome. Snakes are cool... I'm watching my favorite derby league's all star team play against a visiting team from London, tomorrow night....

  4. Interesting thread. I've gotten tattoos from three different artists so far and all were cool, professional folks. Probably the best of the three was not very talkative the first time in but the second time, we had a good yack about kids and stuff. As others have said, I don't go in expecting to make a new best friend but I would be put off by an arrogant/obnoxious attitude. I'm a programmer and we geeks are stereotypically not very social. But while I don't yack a lot at work and don't see it as part of the job description, I would never treat a client unprofessionally or rudely. Word gets around.
  5. Tattoos are a sign of moral depravity? Then I won't need my "Spawn til you die" t-shirt anymore...
  6. Tattoos and coffee are vices? BLASPHEMY! - - - Updated - - - How about the YMCA? They're usually reasonably priced and have a nice variety of facilities. In Summer I bust out the bicycle and roller skates but when it's wet outside it's nice to use the Y's equipment. Even if I'm sick to death of it by Spring...
  7. I want to see the movie Big Sur, from Kerouac's book. The trailer looks pretty amazing... Link
  8. It is really cool. It was great finding a cool community like this that's so helpful, welcoming. There are some real dorks in other online forums...
  9. Hey, welcome! This is a cool community (I joined rceently too) and I think you'll enjoy it. I haven't been in Cincinnati but I visited an office in Cleveland a bunch a few years ago. Nice place and it has done better than my Rust Belt home area of Niagara/Buffalo.
  10. The sport is fun and I don't go for many team sports. Still trying to fit into the community. I've been volunteering with setup/teardown and my wife has just started going to bouts with me (she's been in school mode).
  11. My mom didn't care when she found out I got a tattoo, probably because I was over 50 at the time (or the first one). It's riding motorcycles that she gives me a hard time about.... :)
  12. Welcome! I joined recently too. What kind of tattoos do you collect?
  13. I haven't been to one of these. I'd like to check out this and/or the next Vancouver, BC show.
  14. Personally, I think women with tattoos look gorgeous...
  15. The London Roller Girls (I think the team is London Brawling) have a team coming here to play Seattle area teams next week. I'm going. :)
  16. Talking to my favorite tattoo artist about starting a Firefly themed sci fi tattoo in a couple weeks. Very very excited. :)
  17. I sure got lucky with my wife cause that's never something either of us would have don. Sure she'd probably be upset if I had a horror tattoo or an explicit nude. But that's not the way my tastes run anyway. I can see trying to find a pinup she'd be OK with, though. :)
  18. I'm sorry but I think you had peanut products near you when you posted that. I'm having an allergic reaction. Please people, be more considerate.... :)
  19. I can't wrap my brain around guys who are negative about women having tattoos (or doing anything else they want). Life is too short for people to spend so much time/energy trying to manage each others' lives. Either I'm a space alien or most people in the world are...
  20. That coverup looks great. And sitting for that does sound hardcore. Iowa, eh? We lived in West Des Moines for 3 years...
  21. Ditto. Well, except for my gym. Totally getting territorial there!
  22. I haven't seen Rollergirls...don't really watch reality TV much, the ddddrama irritates me too much. And there are so many quality shows that have been squeezed off the air. The derby near us is in a community college gym and I've helped a bit with floor setup/teardown hoping I eventually make friends in the community. Not super loud, my daughter's got a little bit of Aspergers going on and she enjoyed the environment.
