  1. Yikes, that sounds freaky. Lemme see if this picture shows up https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151651970335446&set=a.480747930445.294451.353725300445&type=1&theater
  2. This is one of the funniest things ever. Ninjas got the Saviors back. Magic Woody Allen Zombie Superman Komodo Dragon Telepathic Vampire Quantum Hovercraft ME Jesus. Tim Minchin could've added Ninja to his song.
  3. Anyone ever heard of this removal method? There's a shop near here that just started doing it. I don't quite get how it works exactly-the pictures on Facebook show dots on the tattoo, in a grid pattern, that almost look like indentations in the skin, but that might just be the lighting. I'd already made an appt for the coverup when this other shop started doing the removal. 'Course, the shop that is doing the removal is where I got the tattoos that I wanted covered up in the first place...and we're related so I was hesitant to inquire further, ha!
  4. I'd planned to start working on ideas to connect my arms across my back and then be done for a while and now after looking at pics in the gallery and shop websites I'm trying to think of something to go around my ankles, around the other stuff I have there. Bad influences, the lot 'a'ya.
  5. Thank you! Most of the scabs are off now and it's showing lots of new skin...and I can really see what's underneath it now so I'm kinda bummed. But maybe I just can see it so easily b/c I know it's there. I hope that's the case. DM is just a couple hours away from us-small world!
  6. My brother has a few tattoos and has talked about getting more, however he doesn't like when women have several, or big pieces. My husband has several, plans for more, and likes them on women, lucky for him, since I'd get them regardless. Some of what I am tossing around in my head for my next things he doesn't care for, so it's hard for him to discuss them w/me, but he'll still have to look at them when they're on me so ha!
  7. Thank you both! Ehhh maybe w/the right accessories Bruce could've been a dapper fellow haha!
  8. What I had on my feet before was done in 2005 and they didn't turn out anything like I'd planned. I was up getting some other work done and asked the artist about my feet. He said he could cover them and that a modified peony would work well, in glowy colors. I had it done a week ago yesterday. The picture is from right after it was done, so there's some nice swelling...not near as super duper nice as by the time I got home. Big ole Bam Bam feet by then! It took 4 hours. Sucked. My husband insists I'm the tattoo beast tho for sitting thru it, reading my book and playing on the internet, so that makes me feel tough haha!
  9. Haha awesome! My daughter is currently scared of needles so insists she won't be getting anything when she's of age...we'll see tho!
  10. I don't know necessarily that they've changed my life, but I certainly enjoy having them. They're like accessories to my body. I have a Tigger, and he more than any of the others has been a draw for kids and adults-he's the one people ask about more often. I was worried when I started my job last year at a preschool that people would be freaked out, but so far everyone has been accepting, and the kids seem to get a kick out of them. They're very gentle the times I've gotten new ones, very cautious not to hurt me. After I got my feet redone, one of the boys came to school a couple days later and had "tattooed" the tops of his feet w/orange paint. So far, no notes have been sent to school about kids drawing on themselves more than usual, although instead of just one stick on tattoo, they come in w/5 or 7 all over.
  11. Hello, reverend and Shaun!

    Book thread

I like horror, sci fi, fantasy, and detective novels. Stephen King, Robert R McCammon, Sue Grafton, Piers Anthony, John Sanford, Robert B Parker, Lee Child, old Dragonlance are some that I enjoy.
  13. Ohhh wow. I was scrolling backward thru the thread and got to page 17 and saw the band name chart. There are songs that I remember from "back in the day" and it drives me completely bonkers googling short lyric phrases trying to figure out what those songs are---the name Grim Reaper jumps out at me, I look them up and find the title of the song I've been looking for! I can't tell you how many times I've looked for that song-all I could remember was the title, not the band. Back when I was 18/19 I had a boyfriend that would play this song (on tape of course b/c I'm old) in my car all the time. Not that I want to remember that butthole but I don't like it when I can't remember things. The only good thing to come out of that relationship was he introduced me to Pantera. Maybe that chart will help me find the other songs I've been looking for, ha!
  14. I don't recall the twitching when I had my ankles done, but my feet, definitely they I was twitchy then. No kicking or anything, but like zzzt zzzt little twinges/spasms, sometimes in spots it would go up my whole leg. Weird sensation!
  15. The ones on my ankles do that every now and again, randomly, but it doesn't last long, just goes away. I don't notice that the ones on my upper body do it ever, but I figure that's b/c they're not really in spots I can see them or mess w/them to know if they are. And, I wonder if it has to do w/being on the lower extremities, just how your body reacts to things. Your weight spends most of its time in your legs/feet and such.
  16. My feet hurt-especially the farther down on the inside/outside it went and the closer to the toes/ankles. But that was the longest I've sat before, so if it had been a smaller tattoo maybe I wouldn't think it was too bad, I dunno. It's been so long now, I don't remember how bad the circlet around my upper arm was..I know the underside of the arm hurt but by now it's just a forgotten pain--and it was a pretty simple tattoo to begin w/. If it was a longer period of time under there I'm sure I would remember it as worse than I do. I don't what an armpit ditch is-is that right inside the actual armpit? B/c oooo if it is I can only imagine the pain of that area! Didn't realize the thigh and calf would be that painful--good to know!
  17. I got my first a couple days after I turned 18. I told my mom I was getting it-she didn't believe me. I told her I would be late coming home b/c it was an hour drive and my friend and I were the last appts of the night. She "uh huh, yeah, ok" 'd me, still not believing me. Came home later, she said "where have you been? It's past curfew" Um..have I not been telling you all week I was getting a tattoo, hello? She was so stunned she didn't say much after that. Dad did the whole "ohhh GAWWWD you're going to regreeeeet this foreeeeeeever" drama speech.
  18. Last Saturday was my longest, the cover up on my feet-4 hours. That was enough. Until seeing this thread I thought I was a big puss or something since towards the end my feet were shaking and I was just SO ready to be done, wondering if I was going into shock. Glad to know I'm normal.
  19. I think I am going to be a mish mash girl. I don't have a particular "style" I like necessarily, I like different things in different styles. I've become more interested in things I didn't realize I liked after being exposed to them on the internet. (god help us w/the advent of pinterest) Traditional wasn't really something I felt drawn to, but after seeing different ideas/interpretations on pinterest, and browsing thru pics here, I think you know what, I like some of that stuff, maybe I'll go for a sparrow and/or a rose next time. Some of the stuff I like but just isn't "me". My husband likes black and grey, I like color. Well, I like b&g, but I'm a big/bold colorful girl.
  20. Awww what a cute dog! Is she a puppy still or a mini? Your wife has a rockin body! I hope I look that good when I'm in my 50's!
  21. Hello everyone! Husband and I both love tattoos, regularly make lists of what we would like to work on in the future. I actually found this forum over the weekend when I was googling tattoo inflammation. I sat thru a loooovely 4 hour foot coverup on Saturday and was looking to see if there was anything else to try for the swelling other than what I'd been doing..and then got sidetracked nosing around here. I have several tattoos. My first was on Halloween right after I turned 18. My best friend and I at the time got matching roses on our ankles. Then I got a dragon on a different ankle side. Then my cousin drew up Tigger holding some daisies for me, and I got that on the opposite ankle side as the rose. Then a purple tree frog on my back left shoulder, and a circlet of daisies around my upper arm. The frog and Tigger are the only original pieces, the other three are just flash out of a book. Then in 2005 I got a couple done on my feet that didn't turn out at all like I'd wanted. This past February I got some cherry blossoms on the back of my neck trailing across the back of my shoulder and down my arm a bit. Then Saturday I had the ones on my feet covered up finally. That was a long and super painful process and not one I wish to do again, so I'm hoping once it's healed it looks great. I can still see bits showing thru, so will probably post it later and get thoughts. Anyway, that's me!
