    my girlfriend (going on 7 years!) has zero tattoos. when were first started dating and i was still in my apprenticeship she had a bunch of ideas for tattoos. i kept telling her to wait until i was better because i didn't want to be the one putting a bunch of poo all over her...so i think her need to get tattooed has waned, and now that i feel like i could pull off some cool shit, she is not interested...C'est la vie. i figure one of these days she'll come around to it again. So i guess my stance is a little skewed because she was and still is tattoo free. But she has always been extremely supportive of my career or whether i am getting more work done. I love that girl. And for those curious, yes i am going to propose soon. she keeps telling me that after 7 years it may be too late for her to say yes...haha... but i would say if i was ever in the wild again, i don't think i would mind either way..tattooed or not, if ya got it, ya got it!

    pretty much everything in my portfolio is the work i am most proud of. The majority of it is my custom stuff or work that i thought was "cool" that i did on my friends and what not, but towards the back i have a few photos of other stuff like script and tribal and crosses and shit that 98% of our clients are interested in. i guess i leave that in there so when they ask for that sweet cross and look at my portfolio, they feel better knowing i can give them that sweet chrome shine they were hoping for.

    oh they are definitely still around. a friend of mine at another shop here in town called them up asking why their commercials were so fucking lame...and all of the employees were very nice about it and mostly replied with "yeah i know...you need to tell zeke, wanna leave a message?" "and for goodness sakes, be good to your pets!"

    Thanks again Scott for doing this. All of these interviews are very inspiring and informative. It is just so great to hear these stories and the history of all these folks who i admired when i first started getting tattoos and who i have so much respect for since getting into the industry. Being in the southeast, it kills me that i can't come by and witness all the badassery that is going on out there in person! Please keep em coming!

    So all these people passing out and doing weird shit stories reminds me of one. i was tattooing this fairly tough looking black dude with a name or something on his back. About halfway through he lifts his head from the chair and is beaded with sweat. I ask him if he is ok...no response...yo dude you alright?...just staring blankly ahead. Now i am thinking fuck, this is weird and i have someone grab him some water, which he doesn't take or anything and now you can tell he is faded his head is bobbing up and down. So i think well i have one of those ammonia/smelling salt packets and crack it under his nose... the dude made an EWWW face and then proceeds to try and stand up which he falls back i get him to the ground. now laying on his back he must think he is trying to get away from someone because his is "running" while on his back. seconds after that he came to, and i think i bummed him out because after he was back to normal i was laughing, but more of dude that was the weirdest shit nervous feeling. I also had a friend of mine do the same type thing except he tried to fight me while he was in the weirdo dimension. i had to hold him down until he knew who i was. jeez.

    Wrong dude, but i am friends with erik and yes he has the lucky charms for sure! haha. he and i worked together at a grocery store and then at the same tattoo shop, but one of the cashiers at the store started a rumor he was a skinhead or some shit based on his knuckles...some people are so dumb... anyways he could tell the story way better than me anyways...he is erikvanO on here.

    yeah i hate to admit it but i had a pretty easy apprenticeship...just was a shop bitch for a long time... no major hazing or anything crazy to speak of. Some friends of ours at another shop in town just destroy their apprentices. tattoo dicks all over them, make them suffer on the regular. pretty funny stuff. glad it's not me...hah
