  1. Yeah, be sure that whatever you take doesn’t thin your blood and actually make bleeding worse.
  2. I have a gigantic portion of my body covered by Scott Sylvia, and I can't recommend him and the crew at Black Heart enough. He is a legend in the game for good reason - a hell of a tattooer for 30+ years, fast as they come, and a great guy. Plus he started this website. Idle Hand is a killer shop in SF as well. Temple Tattoo is a bay area institution and worth looking into the guys there. FTW in Oakland is a strong shop too. A lot of the Spider Murphy's folks have moved and opened Shangri La. Both of those shops are pumping out killer work. Long story short, there are plenty of places to look in SF/Oakland/Bay Area, and that's just traditional.
  3. Yeah, I have a feeling I know who you're talking about... The bay area is so packed with killers that you can't go wrong with a lot of people. It's nice to have options. You can't go wrong with Britton or any number of others out there.
  4. Nothing wrong at all, especially something like wings. Sounds like you have a bunch of variety within the same thing.
  5. If you REALLLLY want to get tattooed by an artist, the time and money will be worth the wait. Plenty of people on this site have waited for artists they love, myself included. That said, that's a long time to wait when you do have pretty strong options in both Sacramento (Britton at Royal Peacock does great work!) and a reasonable drive to SF/Oakland with plenty of killer artists doing traditional work.
  6. Got my back outlined by Scott Sylvia last weekend. East meets west style mashup of a reaper and koi. As usual, he FLEW through it and crushed. Lined the whole back and butt cheeks in 3.5 hours. I go back for two more sessions in June, then we'll figure out the next steps after that. I'm not really posting full photos anywhere until it's done, but will circle back here if I decide to post any detail or close ups. I have sent to people on IG, so if we're friends and you're curious, hit me up.
  7. Got my whole back and butt cheeks lined last weekend, and I was expecting the absolute worse. I will say that certain spots were awful (base of spine, love handles), but the stomach was definitely worse for me. The very first line that hit my stomach made my entire body flush and start sweating in a way that was disgusting and embarrassing. Haha.
  8. No wrong answer here, only personal preference. I have predominantly mid-sized (hand or slightly larger) tattoos and love how they've sorta puzzle pieced together over the years, but there are always times I look at huge bodysuits and wish I'd gone that way too. But it always goes back and forth!
  9. I've got four sessions lined up with Scott Sylvia through the spring and summer to finally start my backpiece. We'll see if and when I'll be able to travel and SF tattoo shops open up though... Some of those appts may have to be moved back.
  10. At the moment, it's probably my Scott Sylvia Pharoah's cats. Although, it changes pretty regularly.
  11. Oh, then it shouldn't be too expensive.
  12. Well, hopefully the trolling doesn't continue to a "Is my blacked out penis tattoo healing ok?" thread.
  13. This is all I can figure. I don't see a penis in there, and I work with middle schoolers who draw dicks on EVERRRRRYTHING.
  14. Just booked with Grez on November 30. I'm actually starting to think I may go a touch bigger, so may try and get in a few days in January or February.
  15. Haha, man. Watching @Bearcat78 get after it was truly something. After I got my stomach done, I was cringing at the thought of getting tattooed again. Impressive, sir.
  16. I think it looks fine in both threads and to both questions. It's never going to be perfect, and any tattoo ever will have imperfections if you overanalyze it. Enjoy it and live with it for a while. It will become part of you and normal soon enough. But if you don't like it, just put a panther over it and let's call it a day here.
  17. Also posted in the Pagoda City thread, but he's my one-shot Pharoah's Cats from Scott Sylvia.
  18. Pharoah's Cats by Scott Sylvia. Four hour one shot
  19. Haha, @Bearcat78 messaged me about that Dan tattoo, but I left pretty early Saturday morning. That tattoo is sooooooo sick! I got a Pharoah's Cats from Scott Sylvia on my stomach. Nice to see and meet a whole bunch of people from here this weekend!
  20. His painting/original collection at the shop is so insane. He put a small rose filler on me from an original Rollo sheet that I absolutely love. Said he'd never done anything from it, so I had to ask...haha.
  21. Grez always squeezes in as many people as he can, even if he tattoos in his hotel room before or after. That's great that you got in. I can't even count how many Grez talons I have at this point, and it was always a Portlandia reference between me and my best friend that we'd tag things "#putabirdfootonit." Can't wait to see how yours turns out! Also, will add you on IG. I'm on there as andrew.f.white.
  22. I absolute love the designs on the Grez ones, but I just don't know I'd ever wear em. Not quite my style. I haaaaaate the layout of the designs on the t shirt.
  23. All of the episodes have been great so far. 22 minutes feels a little limited compared to some of the older ones on Youtube, but whatever. And yeah, @Hands On....King of the Road is awesome. All of the seasons have been killer.
