  1. I saw this idiocy coming......20 something year old girls trying to cover themselves with tattoos to fill the niche! They see the tattoo mags and the blossom of the digital camera age where anyone can go buy a camera and call himself a "photographer" There are guys out there who literally prey on these ladies....most of them with horrible tattoos! Mind you there are some beautiful ladies out there getting heavily tattooed and doing it proper.....BUT this show will definitely send the wrong message to ladies out there who think or are told they have what it takes to be "alternative" models! I think I threw up a little in my mouth when I read the title..... UGH!!! - - - Updated - - - I had seriously thought about adding a tattoo from Kate.......but not after her participation in this abortion of a show......
  2. Or maybe the universe is just telling you this is not the guy to do this tattoo???
  3. I am an ABO Ceritfied Optician (well I was, I have let it laps)......I wear a lab coat but my neck and hands are tattooed and there is no way for me to cover those! It really depends.....can't you just wear long sleeved shirts and have them hidden? I work full time and have been an Optician for over 25 years with mostly visible tattoos.....and to be honest I really enjoy the doctors who are willing to accept me for who I am..... I guess the question here is.....do you want to be who you really are in life OR do you want to hide that and bow down to what you are perceiving is people who won;t accept you because you are tattooed? If wasn't easy for me......I was actually not promoted into management at Lenscrafters because of a silly tattoo I had on my index finger I got when I was fifteen......mind you I was able to train people for management.....LMFAO! I learned this from a former manager about 7 years ago..... BUT....you know what....having to work twice as hard to get where I am now made me twice as good as my peers! ;) I have run several optical departments in hospitals and managed a few stores and private practices..... I am working full time as an Optician at a VA Hospital by day now and working full time in the evenings and weekends as a tattoo apprentice....working my ass of to learn to tattoo the right way! Let me just say this.....I hope you will be strong and brave and be one of those doctors that keeps his tattoos BUT if you don't.......please don't ever put a dollar sign over giving an Optician who has visible tattoos a chance because you may find the best employee you could ever want to have if you give them that chance!
  4. Ha ha ha........yeah....I can't even imagine that one! :(
  5. For some strange reason....I really want to see Dana tattoo those flames....ha ha ha! :D
  6. I really don't like the term "plain skin".....seems derogatory in a way..... Like we are really that much different.....just because we chose to alter our appearance or something! Anyway..... I don't even realize I am tattooed anymore.....I always think maybe there is a stain on my shirt or food in my teeth.....LOL! Stares or comments don't bother me much anymore......and yeah you do hear some really strange things come out of peoples mouths BUT I have also heard some of the same things come out of people who are less tattooed than others are too! - - - Updated - - - Okay....funny story....maybe a little off topic though.... I had a girl I was dating come to visit me several years ago.....she was moderately tattooed! She told me at the airport she was sitting there and everyone seemed to be staring in her direction.....in fact so much so that she was seriously thinking about asking why everyone was staring at her so much....."Haven't you seen a tattooed woman before???"....is what she was thinking! Then she realized........she was sitting under the Television......LMFAO!
  7. You are definitely getting great work done on you...and yeah....definitely get something from Steve & Dan too! It's so awesome when you walk into shops like Smith Street (or Frith Street in London) and know you really can't go wrong by being tattooed by anyone there!
  8. It was great to meet you too.....and no worries at all.......it looked pretty intense and Dana was doing a lot of heavy coverage! Can't imagine that was too pleasant!
  9. I am heading down to Read Street tonight to see Dana....and to watch Cork get tattooed! :)
  10. Yes I have..........and it's a group that is totally unnecessary!!! I have been a tattooed woman (I prefer to say "person" though) for 30 years now and the one thing I have learned is that if you want people to accept you then just be yourself and do the same things you would do if you weren't tattooed! If you want to be treated the same as everyone else then why would you walk around with a banner saying that you aren't like everyone else??? And then on top of it discriminate against people who are like you by putting a limit on the number of mods they need to have??? All these groups popped up right about the time the tattoo shows hit the air! Some to try to capitalize financially off of the "new tattoo craze"......some just so people could stroke their own egos in the name of "doing good" for animals, etc! The best way to show the world that you are no different is to go out in the world and live a day to day boring existence of a life and show the world that you didn't get tattooed to try to be different and draw attention to you! I am not saying that some good may not be getting done by these groups BUT in my opinion it does as much harm to the mod community by sectioning yourselves off and claiming you are different....and it cancels out any good that is being done!
  11. That is exactly what they are talking about! I was curious as to "the rules" so I just hit up Bert....he said that if you have a tattoo on yourself that they did then post away!!! BUT....they don't like the reposting of work from directly their pages.....and consequently the chain of reposting that happens after that!
  12. I had asked Dan if I take a photo of him tattooing me and of course of the tattoo as well.....and asked if he minded it being posted up! But yeah......no secret tricks or anything I have seen have been posted up!
  13. LOL......I got mine at Todd Noble's opening of Right Coast Tattoo! I got tattooed by Bert and Taz got tattooed by Grime...
  14. Mike is in amazing shape....and he really doesn't ever look like he aged....it's ridiculous....LOL
  15. Bert.......2010(ish) Wasn't done at Smith Street though......
  16. Ha ha ha.....you said the thread needs photos....... ;) Here are a few more..... The tattoo Dan did on me.....and him tattooing me at Smith Street!
  17. Fine.....UGH!!! LMFAO Mike Perfetto.....Neon sign for Mike's shop......Smith Street Tattoo - - - Updated - - - Bad photo of the tattoo Mike Perfetto did on me.......sorry for the bad photo!
  18. Just so everyone knows...... Dave posted today on his FB page that he is selling hundreds of his acetates from the early to mid 1980's Go send him a message on FB if you are interested.....I told him I was going to spread the word!
  19. I would call the shop and ask honestly! I literally got insanely lucky one Friday and caught a walk-n appointment with Daniel Santoro.....but I have a feeling this is a big rarity! His appointment didn't show so.....I jumped at the opportunity! I'd definitely call now and at least just ask...... :)
  20. Okay....that makes perfect sense.....when they first switched over you needed a digital conversion box if you wanted to use your old television......and I am sure you could use your original antenna....like you say...they all do the same thing! I just know now they market a lot of them as "digital antennas" or I guess maybe HDTV antennas! So would an old antenna still pick up an HDTV signal......I mean is all that converted inside the television? Or do you need a specific antenna to grab those signals out of the air? Sorry we are going so far off topic here....LOL......just curious I have a antenna hooked too the television in my Art Room and it picks up some digital channels.....I did it so I could see the local channels my Roku didn't pick up.....but it had said "digital" antenna...... :/
  21. Are you sure it wasn't a digital antenna? They pretty much look the same sometimes..... BUT....read below....there still could be a few lower powered analog stations alive....LOL "In the United States, high-power over-the-air broadcasts are solely in the ATSC digital format since 12 June 2009, the date that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) set for the end of all high-power analog television transmissions. As a result, almost two million households could no longer watch television because they had not prepared for the transition. The switchover was originally scheduled for 17 February 2009, until the U.S. Congress passed the DTV Delay Act.[9] By special dispensation, some analog television signals ceased on the original date.[10] While the majority of the viewers of over-the-air broadcast television in the U.S. watch full-power stations (which number about 1800), there are three other categories of television stations in the U.S.: low-power broadcasting stations, Class A stations, and television translator stations. There is presently no deadline for these stations, about 7100 in number, to convert to digital broadcasting."
  22. @irezumi do you have any of the pink & green stickers Matt did? If not I may have an extra.....
  23. That 60 mile radius...... :) I know we have strayed way off topic in a little @irezumi but this thread has some really cool info in it that I wish more people on this site would check out! You've added a lot of really good info....thank you for that!
  24. I don't think people realize the quality of tattoo artists that exist in just the Baltimore metro area alone! People like Eric Gregory.....Matt Rinks......Brady Duncan......Hunter Spanks....Dana Helmuth....Tom Beasley.....and the list goes on! I always tell people looking for great tattoos that they could stay within a 60 mile radius of Baltimore and get some of the best quality tattoos around! A lot of these guys aren't worried about being famous.....they just love to tattoo and care about doing great work! And the same goes for a lot of cities like Philly and Richmond as well as many others! I don't think people around here realize how blessed they really are to have some of these guys close by!
