  1. Bunny, originally I was going to get my son's name with a piece of art work but my husband was like "I really don't want to see his name and start thinking about him when we're doing it" so a portrait piece would def have been out for the same reason as well!

    Ha ha ha ha ha!

    Exactly!

I know there are parents that are totally fine with that and what better tribute than

to have a portrait of your child BUT.....just not something i would do!

I already got tattooed with my Grand daughter's name before she was born!

BUT.......she was a he upon birth!!!!

    Surprise!!!!!

Now i have "Grace" on my wrist and his name is Michael!

    LMFAO!!!!

Fortunately Grace has some other meanings....most people have no clue unless I tell them!

  2. I had a pachuco cross needle and thread tattooed on my left index finger 28 years ago!

26 years ago I had a butterfly professionally tattooed on my left breast!

The pachuco cross cost me a promotion into management at Lenscrafters 17 years ago! but didn't

find this out until i had left the company about 10 years ago! It was pretty fucked up as I think about

it but really i don't care looking back. I moved on to bigger and better things with a company

that was willing to accept who i was!

Anyway.....I hate seeing young people who do not tattoo or who are not moderately covered

have hand and neck tattoos! When I started getting tattooed and with the people I was around in the craft, you had to "earn" the right to wear those tattoos by either being part of the craft or by being moderate

    to heavily covered!

Things have changed so much and there is much more acceptance BUT I still hate to see

younger people make those decisions so early in life!

When it comes down to it....we are all given a body to do with as we please so I

guess we are free to do whatever we want!

I am 44 years old now and about three weeks ago I finally had my

knuckles done partially covering up my pachuco cross!

I am established in my career, my children are grown, and I have been a tattooed person for 28 years! I was given the name/idea by the woman who did my first professional tattoo 26 years ago and I even asked her is she minded me using the name she gave me on my knuckles. I slept long and hard on this decision....much longer and harder than most of the young kids out there with their hands and necks tattooed nowadays!

I guess I really wish people who are gonna have this done would think a little

more about it before they do it! And if they are gonna do it.....at least find an

artist that is worth have the work done by not some crap artist!

Not sure if I went off topic or not but sorry if I did!

  3. Took a trip to New England to see family but made a tattoo road trip out of it too!

Flew into Boston and got tattooed by Juli Moon, Korie Wilson, & Josh Bjorklund that day

    around the Boston/NH areas (Friday)

Drove 4 hours to central Maine....lol

Then 2 hours back down i-95 to see Cyndi Lou the next day in Portland, ME

    Took a day of rest....

then hit Hobo's Tattoo on the way back down to the Boston airport and got

tattooed by George Benjamin 3 hours before our plane took off!

    5 tattoos in 3 days.....was a hell of a trip!

We tend to base all of our travels though around family and artists in

the areas near where we are going!

Like....we went to our son's boot camp graduation in Oklahoma so we

went to see David Bruehl in Norman, OK!

I would fly to Skull & Sword from Baltimore though to add Grime to the collection!

I hate when the hubby has an artist that i don't....ha ha ha ha!

There are a lot of left coast artists I would love to add!

  4. Wash gently a few times and let dry until all the plasma has risen out (usually after 2-3 hours) then for the next two days i wash it a few times a day and allow to dry and use just enough Aquaphor to coat it and rub it in the best i can! After two days i switch to lubriderm unscented lotion! It usually flakes on the 4th day and i am pretty much healed within a week at the most! I rarely loose any color!

My hubby tries the same thing and doesn't work for him....LOL

It takes him forever to heal tattoos but they still look awesome after healing!

    Everyone is different!

  5. welcome Bunny...looking forward to seeing some of your art ;)

    Hi Tammy!

I posted an album with some of the tattoos in my collection on my profile page!

Please check them out when you get a second and let me know what you think!

    :)

Welcome and thanks. I enjoyed your other post under first tattoo and look forward to hearing more tattoo stories and seeing pictures. Maybe a tattoo blog????

Well......I keep getting asked this question but i have never really thought what i had to say was that interesting or maybe it is just that i underestimate myself as to what might be interesting about my exploits to others!

Let's just say i will definitely give it some thought since you have mentioned it!

    :)

Hey Bunny - welcome to the forum and thanks for joining!

    Thanks Steve!!!

I really like the vibe here already and I am looking forward to seeing how it comes along!

    Hi Bunny!

Looking forward to seeing you again in Pittsburgh! It was nice to see you in Baltimore.

    Ahhhh....the lovely Cara!!!!

    How are you doll???

So nice to see you here!

I am going to do my best to make it up to Pittsburgh even if it just for a day!

It has been years since we attended and I am really looking forward to it AND of course seeing you and Jason there!

    <3

I think this is also the first time I have ever successfully multi quoted in a thread before...ha ha ha ha!

Thank you all...I am honored to be here!

  6. The farthest to date would be 2500 miles.....but I would travel where ever I needed to if there

was a specific artist I wanted to be tattooed by!

I agree.....people aren't willing to drive 20 miles which is insane....BUT those are the people that also deserve what

they get if they don't do their homework!

  7. Hello everyone....I am Bunny Switchblade!

Some of you may already know me and some of you may not!!!

I have been a tattooed individual for 28 years now and seen a lot happen over those years! I am a collector/enthusiast and have been tattooed by 49 artists to date! I seek out the best artists I can find to be tattooed by! I have a very satisfying collection that i hope to continue to be adding to for years to come! I also have a deep passion for the craft of tattooing and it's rich history.....although I have never seriously though of tattooing as a career!

Anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask!

    I am an open book!

I like to think of myself as a collector of fine art....with my skin being the canvas!

Thank you for the chance to introduce myself!

  8. Let me say it is an honor to be the first post in this thread!

I can only imagine some of the ownderful stories to come!!!

First tattoo was a pachuco cross on my left index finger! Was done by needle and thread with india

ink by a boy whose name i can't even remember! It has lasted 28 years and believe it or not cost me

a promotion to a management position 17 years ago....back when tattoos were not as ""hip" or "fashionable"

Would I do it again??? Yes....most definitely....although knowing what i know now.....it would have been professionally done!

I got my first Professional tattoo 26 years ago by the lovely Juli Moon while she was still at

Dragon Moon Tattoo in Baltimore, Maryland! It is a butterfly on my left breast which has since been

incorporated into my chest piece! I am fortunate to have started being tattooed by such a wonderful

tattooist right out of the gate and i know that now! I have made several mistakes over the years

by being tattooed by people in the craft who were friends but less than accomplished tattooists but

fortunately nothing that is horrible or couldn't be fixed!

    Why did I get tattooed?

I grew up in an area where people had tattoos....not necessarily I guess the best area, and I fell

in love with the art at a very early age! I am the only one of the three girls that walked to the door of

Dragon Moon Tattoo that went inside that evening! It was more of a street shop then than a "studio"

and I have to admit I was scared to death! But I did it and have lived with the outcome of my decision

    for 26 years now!

What a wonderful decision it was too!

I have some of the best friends and have met some of the nicest people!

That decision 26 years ago has led me to have a wonderful collection of art on my body done by 49 artists to date! I want to have the best work I can have....by the best artists I can get to tattoo me!

I am a collector of fine art now and my skin is the canvas!!!
