Um, because you can have the best of both worlds, and all you need is the right shirt. Hiding tattoo's are not the only way people accommodate those around them. We all adjust the way we even speak depending on the situation. Why is this so hard for people to understand when it comes to tattoo's. I know that some of my patients would feel uncomfortable if I had visible tattoos. And yes I care about their comfort level with me. It is part of my job to care. My work is a large part of my life. Will I decide then that, "Oh well, I just won't be able to have tattoos" Why should I have to choose between the two, when I can very easily just cover them?

I'm sure a lot of you would disagree with me but I told my son to wait till his thirties to get a tattoo. I hope he takes my advice. The person you are at 20 is rarely the person you are at 30. Those ten years make such a big difference. This poor kid... when he really grows up his options for deciding on his future are pretty limited. I guess I made a lot of mistakes that are permanent when I was younger but at least I would have to sit down with a person and decide to share it with them, this is visible for everyone whether he likes it or not.
I know your first instinct is to hate this kid for supposedly desecrating something you hold sacred, but man, he's just a kid.

I don't think that is just the women. I have a friend who's husband is constantly being hit on, right in front of her. As if this guy couldn't possibly be the faithful type. One waitress practically pulled out her boob to show him her tattoo. He put up his hand to block the view and said, "That's nice, now get my wife her pie."

Oh man... really sad to hear that. Honestly though, I was expecting to read about how one of the shop employees had raped a customer, and I'm really glad that wasn't the case. Until now, I've kept my political and social views separate from the board as many people would consider them fairly radical and I do not wish to create any animosity, but since this has already been brought up, I'm gonna throw in my two cents.
Being that women make up 51% of the world population, I think it's safe to say that everyone has women in their life that they care about, be it relatives or friends. I fully believe that every single person has a moral obligation to question and deconstruct the reasons why violence against women or further, femininity, happens with little to no repercussion. I'm sure most people, when asked to do so, would say "what are you talking about! I don't think violence against women is acceptable, that's ridiculous!" And surely, I think that most people do feel that way on a superficial level. It's just way more subversive than that. From calling our possessions (cars, power tools, tattoo machines, etc) "she," to Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines retaining consecutive airplay and VMA performance after heavy criticism, to scented tampons, to rape jokes (see video below), and dismissing women's valid emotions and opinions as hormonal craziness, we have a huge problem with dehumanization.
And if anyone who wants to take a little trip back to any world history classes you've taken, I'm sure you'll remember that objectification and dehumanization are age-old tactics for conditioning soldiers to feel no remorse in the midst of combat. I also fully believe that nobody has the power to change any world but their own, so if that article bothers you and if violence against women bothers you, then make an effort to change the way you think about femininity and feminine empowerment.
And fo real, thanks for posting that article.

Decided to get this done on my next trip to Florida in November so my brother can be a part of it. He has no tattoos and has been considering getting one himself.
I found these reference pictures online and placed them on my back to give him an idea of what I wanted and he said it would work out.
