  1. Yeah for sure, But I wonder why that design hasn't been used a lot more. I know of only one tattoo (currently still in progress as a front piece i think).
  2. I had a talk at the shop today and we decided on doing the Kitsune (top right) :-)
  3. I've got thursday next week booked to start on my backpiece, to get rid of that white 'spot' between my two sleeves ;-) But.... I'm having a hard time deciding on what (kuniyoshi) warrior design to go with, I know you can't really go wrong with a Kuniyoshi design, but thats what making it hard to decide, they are all sooo good ;-) I'm kinda leaning towards one of the top pictures, but maybe I should just go with a big ass full back tiger and be done with it  I don't knowwwwwwww..
  4. To me the best lady heads (and the occasional mans head) are made by Guen Douglas:
  5. A little late reply, but i just found some more bodysuit information on Horimatsu's website
  6. My wife's Phoenix backpiece was finished today at a convention, she (and I) are real happy with it (well, after it's healed ;-) ) Backpiece was made by Bonel of Corazon Santo here in The Netherlands, which did my two sleeves, and is probably starting my own backpiece in februari
  7. Hiya, Today I found the website (and mobile) apps of Tattoo App-Tattoo World App For Android, iPhone and Windows Phone. It's a 'database' of all tattooshops, piercingshops, conventions etc worldwide, with location and information about the shop, ratings, reviews etc. It's seems there aren't a whole lot of shops active yet (at least in my part of the world), but it looks interesting. Anybody else seen it/used it yet?
  8. Yesterday my wife had her 4th session on her backpiece, and the background brought it to life and we are so stoked I just had to share it with you all :-) The piece is made by Bonel from Corazon Santo in The Netherlands, which also did both of my sleeves and chest pieces :)
  9. And here is my entry for this month, my 'Tamatori-Hime' sleeve (the one with the octopus ) that we finished today (with a bit brutal 5 hour session. This sleeve (and my other sleeve) are made by Bonel from Corazon Santo tattoo studio in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
  10. Oh damn! This should have gone in the october topic  Thanks for the heads up, i'll go and repost this in the october topic, if there is one already :)
  11. Edit : 5 hours of chest stabbing doesn't help for your mental status, i posted my picture in the old topic
  12. Pfew, it's all done! :) Today was the 5th and last session on my 'Tamatori-Hime' sleeve, I expected to sit for like 3 hours to color the octopus, but in the end we clocked in 5 hours of tattoo time... and the chest part was kinda borderline brutal ;-) The orange is looking rather like 'radio-active orange' :) but that will soften up a bit/a lot when it's healed. And now, fill up my back! When i've got some cash again :-))
  13. Today Bonel from Corazon Santo in The Netherlands which is also working on my second sleeve, finished the Phoenix backpiece on my wife. (The kanji was there already, it had been done a few years back by another artist)
  14. @ironchef My sleeves are made by Bonel, of Corazon Santo tattoo studio in The Netherlands. You can check his work (and links to his instagram etc) on BonelTattoos and Corazon Santo
  15. I had another (relatively small (3.5 hours) session on my Tamatori-Hime sleeve today, we finally got to put some color into it :-) Unfortunatly the octopus will be colored next time, which i think will give a big change as to how everything looks now. And a nice (almost) full body shot :) :
  16. Well, you said you got the tattoo today? The black doesn't look like 'thick' black, so my guess is it will heal up much lighter, and probably become more of a diluted/greyish black and will probably look good all together.
  17. Today was the third session on my Tamatori-Hime sleeve/chestpiece. It took 5 hours to put in some background on my upper arm :) (There is some old kanji on my upper arm that's in the process of being covered) And this is the complete picture of how it is now:
  18. Not necessarily, Although it usually is the cause it might just be your skin.. My wife has two tattoos, both healed perfectly, but both are a bit raised (although not as much as yours). Her backpiece is just linework at this time, color will be added at the end of this week (the other tattoo is just black), we're interested to see what that does with her skin.
  19. It depends, I had a kanji sign on my arm which was still pretty dark, and this has been covered by solid black. It needed an awfull lot of black but it did fully cover the old tattoo... But then again, mine wasn't raised, a raised tattoo will always stay noticable and thus needs more/other stuff to make it 'dissapear' ..
  20. Can't really help you on that, guess you need to talk to an artist about it. Maybe something can be done by drawing the eye away from that spot in some way... or you could perhaps have the old tattoo (or a part of it) incorporated into the new, like instead of the V you make another logo on the hat
  21. The black of the hat should be able to cover your existing tattoo. But your old tattoo seems a bit 'raised' out of the skin, don't know if it really is?. If it really is it might still show 'through' the black of the hat.
  22. For me the trouble spots on my full sleeve/chest piece were the elbow ditch and even more so the 'front' of the armpit, were the full sleeve goes over into the chestpiece, in my case that part was also black background so it was hit pretty good. I kept it moist, but even then it kept on cracking and (sometimes) bleeding, and some spots didn't heal nicely and lost some black, and needed a touch-up. I'm now busy on my second sleeve/chestpiece, and my artist managed to make the exact spot in this arm a black background bit too :-) It seems to be healing better this time, although only half of the 'armpit-spot' has been done yet. Next week my elbow ditch will be getting background, and probably the rest of the armpit spot, so i'm for some fun with healing ;-)
  23. I have become of fan of dry healing too, when i got my earlier tattoo's I was told to apply bephanten or something similar on it. It did work fine, but the tattoo's were always 'sticky'. When I got my first (full) sleeve last year I was told to 'just do nothing' :) And it went great, after getting home i washed it, and repackaged it for the night, but after that nothing. The first few days i didn't need to do anything, after that i got a bit dry on some places, and i put some (generic) lotion it, usually once a day was enough.. And like was said earlier, it's a wound, and needs to breath to heal, and not to be suffocated with some goey stuff. On another forum i frequent most members are keeping their tattoo moist, and 'brag' about not having scabs or anything.... no ofcourse not, they are rubbing everything off by lubricating the thing 10 times a day....
  24. Here is a little piece of mine :-) This dragon sleeve has been done last year by Bonel of Corazon Santo in The Netherlands, which is currently working on my other arm (and a Phoenix backpiece on my wife :-) )
