  1. Good question. Kids don't always rebel though..my sister turned out like an exact copy of my parents whereas I became the opposite. Am not much of a rebel though, I just quietly changed. Really makes me wonder how my son will change. I have to admit I secretly hope he will be like me ;) I started introducing my music when he was in the womb in the hopes of him liking it "here baby, some blackmetal, enjoy".
  2. Gosh and starting on his hands!:D
  3. My lower back tattoos felt like having the bone tattooed :/ so compared to that all the other tattoos were nothing. I have to say piercings hurt much less though. I had a nape piercing in the past, 9 minutes of poking and creating a tunnel...really not bad at all.
  4. @UglyButProud That is the most adorable and funny story!
  5. Seems like I should start investing! Unless the watch can do more than my phone I don't see any use for it really...it's like having an iPad a cell phone, a netbook, laptop and a desktop...all at once.
  6. Oh great...I'm planning collar bone next. Was it directly on the collar bone or the area around it? My wrist felt like someone dragging a knife through the flesh. But I have to say my last tattoos were pretty bearable.
  7. I've seen this watch in the store and to me it is really pointless. It does not do enough to justify the price or getting it. Just seems like a shiny gadget... So no loss if they don't work on tattoos. My regular watch works just fine.
  8. @s3rndpt Your tattoos sound great! I like the tattoo in progress you posted too. My son sees tattoos (and piercings) the same way. To him it is fancy and pretty like jewelry or make up. He calls me "princess mommy" :)
  9. Your username looked like OutFitIdeas at first glance.
  10. I think maybe when one has a whole lot of colors and different styles it becomes easier matching clothing that if there are just 2 colors to coordinate :). I think with clothing there are lots of possibilities for colored tattoos though. I can see it work with all neutral and opposite colors, as well with like colors...like the purple of the tattoo matches the florals of the dress etc. Today I wore light pink and light blue and tbh my black tattoos aren't the best match for this color scheme...but in the end I prefer the tattoos over matching every little thing. Plus I think when all is well coordinated, one detail that isn't can even be a great eye catcher, as in make a look edgy or special in a way ;). Like wearing spikes with pearls and black and white lace.
  11. I'm into spiritual science, the occult, alchemy. I don't believe in religion by the book but a higher power. Whether people call it god, nature or the universe I don't care. Most of my tattoos reflect my beliefs . I do admire Christian iconography or religious buildings of all beliefs, but more in a gothy manner ^^. Churches are good places for creepy pictures.
  12. Makes me think of bearded transvestites that are applauded in the media, but the same people will run from someone in black clothing :p But there are lesser degrees to this insanity. You only have to tell other people your kid sleeps in your bed and not his own and you will find yourself friendless. I stood away from tattoos (and facial piercings) in my 20's because my Ex did not approve, neither did my work place (I worked in Manhattan, so ...fancy fancy). But eventually I noticed that isn't making me happy. And even though my following partner was not a fan of piercings or tattoos I continued anyway...and I'm happier working a less fancy job too. At least my son is a fan of everything. ;)
  13. That's original! Never heard of such a plan! I have thought about how differently themed tattoos will match however. So far most is occult/ pagan.
  14. Yeah I hope I can find something that works for both. Flattering to the body and works with my overall style :)
  15. I follow Old Hag on Instagram. She has facial tattoos. I like the look of the ornaments on her forehead/ temples, though I would not get it tattooed.
  16. @Abellve Yeah I guess you are right that tattoos are more neutral and a part of yourself when wearing an outfit. I would probably just have to get used to having it on my body.
  17. I'm not a birds into feather fan personally, but I see the 'crappy tattoo' thing a bit different. Maybe that person will always love their feather birds tattoo and even get more cliche tattoos that are frowned upon by tattoo lovers because they genuinely like it. Maybe they will still love all their lettering, dandelions, birds etc. 10 years from now, when they are out...when the birds look like blobs and watercolor like bruising. Maybe they never cared what anyone thinks about their tattoos. If you think about it it puts them in the most difficult spot - Not normal enough for the mainstream, too mainstream for the tattooed community. Shunned by both :) At least tattoed people with great tattoos accept each other, as do non tattoed people. Though I don't have trendy tattoo designs atm, they are still frowned upon by tattooed people because they are so simple and small. But the mainstream also frowns upon me because I have more than just one piercing or tattoo and the designs I chose aren't trendy enough. This is pretty much the story of my life. I don't fit in anywhere ;). I don't care about it personally. I chose solitude rather than judgemental people. I just don't understand the thinking...everyone judges everyone for something different.
  18. Interesting thread. I have never felt this way about a tattoo or piercing. With some facial piercings I was even happy to have that spot finally pierced. I don't like it without it. It is probably weird thinking but that is how I feel. With tattoos I feel more neutral I guess. Now that they are there, I just like looking at them. But I have gotten only small things so far and am thinking long and hard about bigger ink. I admire bigger tattoos a lot but having them cover a certain spot for a lifetime is a big decision. - - - Updated - - - I actually admired your tattoo before. This is just my personal opinion but I think tattoos that peek out of clothing look great. It adds a certain style to a normal shirt. A lot of my tattoo plans include tattoos that will be visible because I want to be able to see them more often. I have two on my back and I regret not being able to see them more often ;) also a few in the nape/ ear area and at times I almost forget that they are there. As far as the grandma thing goes...we will look wrinkly no matter if tattooed or not. At least the tattoos will add a little interest. I wasn't planning on being a standard grandma either. I'll be that witchy old lady with the long grey hair and long dress collecting herbs in the forest ^^...
  19. I don't care either obviously. I was just curious how the public perceives this or family. One can be curious about how others think.
  20. Yeah but how do others see you and the tattoos. Do they say you are doing it because of trends? I think my English is so crappy half of the forum misunderstood my question. I apologize.
  21. I'll definitely be someone with "trendy tattoos" too I guess...unintentionally..I don't know exactly what is trend but I love finer lines, water color and geometric tattoos, nature motivs...But I have never wanted any of the more classic styles personally. Since I started in 2004 I have been admiring delicate tattoos or very simple, minimalistic art. I want a moderate amount of tattoos, but my goal is not to cover up all too much (if I can ^^) so less heavy tattoos are a way to balance it out for me. If watercolor tattoos should go out of trend, I'd still love them. And I know no matter how trendy portraits or hands would get I'd never want them for myself ;).
  22. Oh yeah, I don't mind a little aging. It is totally fine now, but I was thinking a touch up is a normal thing. At least one tattoo artist told me tattoos need to be redone once in a while. I guess I would just not want it to completely fade...I have seen some that were not recognizable. ^^ For now I think my time and money is better invested in new tattoos. Idk when skin starts aging tattoo wise but I'm in my 30's so I expect I will see signs soon. And thank you! This tattoo is not usually liked all that much!
  23. Yeah that I can understand, when you let the artist know a little bit of what you invision. But I think completely letting the artist decide might be risky....like if he decides for a skull and you absolutely hate skulls haha. I personally definitely do need more planning though. But I can see how some can let the artist be creative about it.
