  1. Japanese seems like the best bet but make sure it is an artist properly trained in Japanese style tattooing. State of Grace is a great place but it is pretty far from LA. You may even be able to contact one of the artists at SOG to suggest someone in your area that would do a legit job. 2. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing your works. -John
  3. Well I don't know how difficult it is to get to Sweden for you, but there are some great shops out there. If I was even remotely close to them I would make the trip.
  4. Hi! I think it's great that you are trying to get feed back from people that know their tattoos! Tattoos have many styles but this particular one would be difficult for an artist to do. If you want to get the best result then find a tattoo artist with a style you like, then give him this image and tell him to make it his own. You should feel comfortable enough with the abilities of the artist to trust his vision. If you are trying to save money or assume every artist can draw then the artist will give you this exact design to please you and it probably won't stand the test of time.
  5. Thanks Duffa! Happy I finally got myself online here. Brisbane is a great city but I am yet to find a full time position at a shop. Illustrated styles seem to be most common so this trad guy is still looking for a home. And yourself? Are you from Brisbane? - - - Updated - - - So kind of you Carolyn. It's good to know that you are always in more corner. I certainly do miss the Bay and having the chance to sit down for a beer with you guys.
  6. So nice to see someone really taking the incentive to research tattoos on a proper forum. I only wish that all my clients would do that. I am new here so I will just throw in a few suggestions to consider before you start: 1. Don't get stuck on themes 2. Consider your palette and the longevity of the colors you like 3. I would start an area and then finish the area instead of the bird shot approach. Does this help?
