  1. Heads up, we don't talk about the technical aspects here. This isn't the place for advice on tattooing, general consensus is that you should find an established artist to ask these kind of things. On the other hand, post up some work! I don't have much script, but can't argue that some good clean stuff with nice flow can look very nice.
  2. Can't blame you there, you have some awesome tattoos!
  3. You know they won't give you ^ two shirts, right? :D
  4. Awesome stuff so far! I've added quite a few of these to my list; really interesting stuff. Out of all of them, "Serial" was definitely the most intense! I ended up listening to it Netflix-binge style. I'm still not sure exactly what to make of it all, but I definitely think it was very well put together and very interesting.
  5. Yup. I'm also a long ways from PC most the time, which is why this trend baffles me.
  6. My bad, I misunderstood the tone of your original post as the guy not wanting to do it, to cover his own ass, and using an obscure reference as an excuse. Hope it all works out for you!
  7. @SeeSea hope all is well, and nothing too serious requiring the MRI. Is there somewhere else you can go to have them done?
  8. So that post recently about the straight edge podcast got me to start listening to podcasts, and I realized how awesome they were. Personally, they are great for me as a long haul trucker, because they stimulate my brain a little bit more then music that just ends up being background noise. I figured we can share our favorites and maybe all find something new to enjoy. Whether they are tattoo related or not, or on any subject, post the ones that you find interesting and maybe a brief description. As I'm very very new to this, so far I only have two to share. "BBC World Service: Newshour" updated twice daily, they seem to focus on the biggest news issues around the world that day, and go fairly in depth on those instead of skimming over a bunch of smaller news items. "TED Radio Hour" Similar concept to TED Talks, except they have one presenter, then they choose a subject and get several different expert opinions or view points on that subject. They often play segments from those expert's TED talks, but much of it also comes in interview form.
  9. I know how you feel, and let me assure you, after the first one those feelings get SO much easier. But I think it's also good to not go into it being unsure. Kinda like taking really good acid. Shit can get real if you aren't 100% about it.
  10. Maybe it's because i just woke up, but the first thing that popped in my head when i read all that was a wizened old hobbit playing ice hockey. Something to do with @Graeme being Canadian i guess... awesome mental picture though.
  11. Psh. @SeeSea you say that as if that's all we say around here... Tigers are the other acceptable option.
  12. Someone complemented the dragon on my forearm once, with complete sincerity. I have a big ship on my forearm...
  13. Sorry to hear about that flu you're coming down with in a few weeks @ItsNewport Crazy how you're the only person in the area that will catch it. Wherever you even are.
  14. Personally, I think you got a really cool tattoo. I would be stoked on it if I were you!
  15. In my opinion, if an artist has an issue with your weight, they don't deserve your business or money anyway. If they went so far as to flinch, they probably deserve a smack upside the head before you exit the building. I have seen plenty of artists post back pieces done on larger folks; I really doubt it will be a problem. I think body shaming, on either end of the spectrum, is one of the most disgusting things that people can do. Our society is so obsessed with political correctness, I don't understand why so many people think it's acceptable.
  16. Well, having just posted about this company being a pain in the ass... they've done it again. Delivery date set for a day later than it should be, won't reschedule or let me drop early. So fuck em, i think I'll drive 100 miles out of route (with their fuel) and spend the extra day in L.A. getting my knee blasted and seeing a friend. Time to check out shops, all i know offhand is Spotlight. But it'll take me a few days to get there, coming out of Florida, so I've got time to research and try to book in. Yeah!
  17. Yea, welcome! Allyson Bennett did my last tattoo, a week ago or so. Awesome list so far, care to share any pictures?
  18. I really need a new job, but for all sorts of reasons i need to wait until June-ish. I love the work, but the company is getting worse and worse. Getting tired of being treated like a tool, and not a person.
  19. Plus, besides his fantastic tattoos, Scott is the reason this place exists! I've changed my mind about 9 times now, but I really think I'd like him to do my back. Being that I love really bold traditional work, you can't really go wrong there. /fangirl
  20. Awesome. I think I'm going to go for it, if I end up in the right place and the right time. I'm a long haul truck driver, so much concern is just using my stiff clutch while it's still tender. I have a big vacation coming up here soon, so I won't have more than one day off to do it. I guess if I can arrange my day off in a good spot with a good shop, it'll be time to nut up or shut up!
  21. Thanks I appreciate that very informative response. I've really been wanting to get one of my knees done lately, but I'm just worried it might not be feasible with my work/schedule... Bit of a catch 22, work seems to be picking back up as we get out of winter, so have the spare cash to get my knee done, but it might make my job really suck for a while.
  22. Is it weird to be jealous of another man's legs? @Mark Bee that really is fantastic. I just started working a lot on my legs; out of curiosity, how long did it take you to get a decent amount of mobility back after getting your knees done?
  23. Just booked a last minute appointment with Allyson Bennett @ Scapegoat tomorrow. Supposed to be saving money, but I couldn't help myself after thinking I was going to get tattooed in Memphis last weekend. No more tattoos after this, until April when I go to Frith St to get something from Emiliano.
