  1. @sophistre absolutely gorgeous sleeve, the color palette is so smooth and unique. @DavidR you also make excellent decisions hahah
  2. Some people may say it's wrong but if you like it bring it up to your tattoo artist and see what they say. I've seen people incorporate Japanese inspired backgrounds into all kinds of styles
  3. @Rad Kelham that knee tiger head is so nice. Is that Trevor Shea also?
  4. jealous that you get to just "swing by" SOG. Would love to get something from there.

    Hello!!

welcome, seems that everyone in charlotte is either from new york/jersey or ohio lol. The city has some pretty decent shops around, what have you gotten so far?
  6. I'd say go for it - sounds pretty cool. My one suggestion would be to make sure that the names on your biceps are around the same length, it would look weird if one was way shorter than the other. My opinion, don't worry about fluctuations in your body weight. It won't matter unless it is very extreme. Like losing so much weight that you have big folds of extra skin type of extreme. I've seen a number of women go through pregnancy and their stomach tattoos look fine afterwards. I doubt you can pump your biceps that much, and they go back to normal after your workout anyways. Everyone is different though, so ymmv.
  7. you just described every career and industry that exists lol
  8. Awesome tattoos! Nice to see some love for hobo's/congress st. Never been to them myself, but have been tattooed by the owner, Jason Scott, and he is super cool. It's good to see some of his son's work, too. It looks really good. Also, welcome.
  9. if you're trying to go for a marine environment theme, koi fish are freshwater. As for the pearl, up to you. Depending on how accurate you want to take it, clams aren't the ones that make the big, colorful, expensive pearls we often associate with jewelry. Those come from oysters, and only certain kinds.
  10. @Manu Manu There might be some merit to those, but I haven't sought out the tattoo specific brands. I'm fine with the regular stuff. @xcom interesting - may have to check them out.
  11. Yea, tattoos are fun to get for the experience and memories. I wasn't trying to scare you off or say you might regret it. Those can be some of the most memorable ones, and I've gotten my fair share of tattoos on a whim. I can say, that at 18 or 19, I wanted a tattoo but wasn't ready for it. I'm glad I waited. Just wanted to shed a little light, and maybe test your resolve a little. Just get what you want, it's all good - no one lives forever.
  12. My advice might not be what you want to hear. But the best thing you can do now is to put it off. Give it a few more years. And I don't mean ponder and think about it for a few years, I mean put it out of your mind. Live, experience, and enjoy life then come back to it when you are 24-25. Nothing, absolutely nothing, will give you the insight that that experience and time will give you. You'll be a much more complete person and, hopefully, won't need to turn to an internet forum for advice on your tattoo. At that point there'll be no hesitation if it is still something you want and you'll be ready for it. In all honesty, you're 19 - you will change sooooooooooo much in the next 5-6 years. Trust me, wait it out. Edit: Also, welcome lol
  13. Wow, amazing. I like that style of Gogue more than the stuff he is generally known for. Perfect example of less-is-more.
  14. While the intention was good and all, probably just something more for the parents than the child - like you said.
  15. hah, guilty of being super lazy too. It's nice to see some more organic alternatives, kinda like in sunscreen they put all kinds of nasty stuff in them. Anyways, my skin can get pretty dry and itchy in the winter so I'll count that as a benefit haha. And, uh, softer and smoother overall skin, I suppose. It can be nice to see some of original color and luster come back to them when they are moisturized. But I also like the settled and worn in look, too. It's all good to me!
  16. Lemme throw in Mr. Hot Stuff himself, Danny Reed: And @mmikaoj, I love that Judas piece you have - it really stands out from the other pieces on your legs. - - - Updated - - -
  17. @MarvelAvengers I have noticed that lubriderm doesn't last quite as long as I'd like.
  18. Yea, one of the things you need to learn (as new to tattoos, I assume?) is that there will always, Always, be something wrong with a tattoo. Whether that something is created in your own head or is something visible, you'll find something wrong with all of your tattoos. I can point to all the flaws in mine: where a line fell out, where the color didn't heal like I thought it would, where color faded after healing, where the line has spread a bit, should have gone a different color, should have gone black & grey, etc. Learn to live with it - they all come out like that, with some manner of imperfection. Nobody will scrutinize your tattoo like you will, they'll see some finger waves and an octopus - and it is a nice tattoo. Just get more.
  19. I wouldn't get a Kali tattoo, either lol. And I feel the same people who get Kali would probably not have a big issue getting the devil also. Most people raised in the western world just don't make the same associations to an eastern goddess as they would to old familiar Satan. Personally, I like the imagery, but I'm just not willing to put stuff of that type of energy on my body. Hope that makes sense. I could do a hot stuff devil though, which might not be a bad idea for the next one...
  20. So, what does everyone like to use as just a daily, or semi-daily, skin moisturizer? I know that it's recommended to stay away from the scented, or alcohol based stuff during the healing process. But do you guys/gals use something else after it has healed? I just bought some new stuff (lubriderm advanced therapy) to try out. Not sure if any other brands are recommended.
  21. Whenever I think of devil/demon tattoos, the first person that comes to mind is Derek Noble. Don't think it gets much better when it comes to the demonic stuff. And like a couple people have already said, as badass as they look, I don't think I could properly rock something like that. But they do make for some badass tattoos.
  22. I don't see why it wouldn't hold up as long as it's outlined in black. I'd go as big as you'd want with it. The bigger it is the better the flowers will look, and the skull won't be evident until it is seen at a distance, which is good.
  23. yea, i was gonna say - a big rib piece looks pretty awesome too. I'd go ribs. Have you considered the knee cap? A fist sized skull would make a really cool knee capper and it fits the space perfectly, just saying.
