TattooedMumma got a reaction from Dan in The ladies thread
I was going to pop this in latest tattoo thread, but the rest of my collection is here, so I'll just keep it together.
Initially, today's appointent was going to be 3 pieces, but have to hold off - so just grabbed the dragon head. Back of the bingo wing.
Next week Andrew will touch up the reds he's done previously (axe, butterfly, strawberry, little bit on swallow) as he isn't happy with how the reds looking.
Happy with my dragons head 🐲❤

TattooedMumma got a reaction from oboogie in The ladies thread
Rather excited. I asked Kyle if we would have time to at least start the thigh as well as do the left inner bicep in the one appointment and he gave the green light- so booking request form was filled out this morning which means circus horse and flipped lady/demon head on the left thigh to come in August - woo!
Thigh we will size up and decide if its front of or side of when I'm in the shop in July. (Possibly similar positioning and sizing as current right thigh tattoo shown in previous post- depends on what Kyle suggests as I am pretty flexible on it)
for the mean time- the lucky rabbit foot and elephant have finished flaking and I am in count-down mode for my appointment with Andrew on July 7 .

Not my style but it's very tidy. F*** what anyone thinks and just get the tattoos you want. 🙂

TattooedMumma reacted to bongsau in anyone have a high quality old tattoo?
My sleeves are 10+ years old.
I stopped babying them w/ sunscreen and lotion, good tired of smelling like a coconut.
Frankly, a good well-made tattoo just looks better and better with age.

LOL who cares ?!?!?
it's going to look like a nicely settled 20 yo tattoo.
maybe you shouldn't be getting tattoos if that is a serious concern of yours.
here is one of my 24 yo tattoos (never touched up)

TattooedMumma reacted to bongsau in a question I thought I'd never ask - most $ you'd spend on a tattoo?
$800 CDN / hour ?!? ... that is outrageous. you could fly to Switzerland, Belgium, Arizona, New York or Japan...have a holiday and fly home with a really incredible tattoo from an OG tattoo legend for much less than it's gonna cost ya to go sit in your local shop and get tattooed by a Chinese 'grandmaster' for $600USD/hr. You could even get a crappy celebrity tattoo from Bang Bang for half that amount.
there are so many local and accessible high calibre cats around that high quality tattoos and top tier artists are accessible and affordable.
if you want to pay for the brand / name ... well, go for it, it's your money.
i'd rather buy a nice looking, reliable Toyota that's gonna last until eternity myself...

TattooedMumma reacted to 1esotericguy in Finally got the design I wanted for years
Saw this design years ago, and it was a must have at first sight. The problem was that the artist is about 8000 miles from where I’m at. I’ve traveled for tattoos, but not that far! I caught a break though, as the artist was guesting in the USA, and I was fortunate to get a spot. The tattoo came to me. I didn’t even get on a plane. How lucky is that? I’ve been saving this forearm panel for years for this piece, without even knowing how I was going to end up getting it ever. But it worked out in the end. (The link below the photo is a video. The tattoo is a really wide design, so it wraps in my desired body placement and the video shows the wrapped sections)
Artist is: Manh Huynh from Vietnam.

TattooedMumma reacted to mtlsam in Veteran LST users unite!
Greetings fellow longtime site users.
I have been noticing an unfortunate trend in topics posted to the site of late. Everyone and their brother and sister too, want to know; Is this is a good design that I found on google image search? Is my brand new tattoo as messed up as I fear it is after staring at it all day? Can you help me decide what goes with this, but I don't plan to like any of your suggestions? I got a bad tattoo and then a worse coverup and now I want it gone, but can't afford laser, and I have no intention of talking to an actual tattooer about a better coverup, what should I do?
In light of this influx of close minded advice seekers, I have decided to begin responding more often, but with an increased snark factor. I will encourage posters to persue their pre-determined courses of action with great vigour! Most make it easy by stating their decision in their opening paragraph.
I have noticed that some of you seasoned veterans of internet tattoo discussion, appear to be behaving likewise. For this I salute you. Let us make LST great again! A place where new users are cautious about telling us how it is, but where those who show a true interest can find a wealth of information.
To the surly few, carry on fine friends. You know who you are, and may you respond well knowing that your wit and sarcasm are appreciated!
P.s.
Here is a picture of a tattoo I got, from Greg Christian, at the Art Tattoo show in Montreal this past weekend. I learned about him and many other greats through this site :)

TattooedMumma reacted to oboogie in Tattoos inspired by music?
Yes. There is a thread about it somewhere. I have several: Johnny Cash (2), John Lennon (2), Amy Winehouse. I don't have images of the two John Lennon ones to hand.

TattooedMumma reacted to thyes in Tattoos inspired by music?
I'm curious to see if there are others in here who have gotten tattoos dedicated to their favourite bands, singers, artists or just inspired by music in general?
I love music, especially metal and rock. So my second tattoo was heavily inspired by the band Tool and their.. wierd artwork. It's been 7 years since I got this tattoo, but I still feel like it needs something more added to it. Just haven't gotten to it yet, I guess.
The pic is from the day I got it if I recall correct. Didn't have a healed pic and couldn't be arsed to take one now, so I snagged this from my Facebook. It's not as crisp ofcourse, but it's still in pretty decent shape (thank god for SPF 50).
Show me yours, there must be some in here :)

Nice!
I hadn't seen this thread previously, but my backpiece is of Jikokuten, the Buddhist god protector of the heavenly musicians, mentioned in the Lotus Sutra. I could use some protection.
Cheers!
